DESCRIPTION Every industry uses electrical machines and equipments, which are quit expensive. Once these equipments are
damaged their repair/replacement is not economical. There for the protection of the electrical equipments is very
important and provision of adequate protection is must in all kinds of industries. This protection is provided by
different protective schemes consisting of protective elements like CT, PT, CB's, protective relays etc. These
protective elements are known as switchgear or protective gear.
A device known as Relay/Switchgear testing kit is used for testing and calibration of these protective
equipments. The testing kit provides all the facilities required for testing of L.T. switchgears and protective relays
according to I.S. To ensure that the Switchgear and relays perform properly when in service, it is essential to
carry out complete commissioning test, as advised by the manufacturer, at the time of installation only. Further
more periodic maintenance tests should be carried out at regular intervals to check that relays are in proper
working condition.
Using Relay/Switchgear testing kit carries out the commission and periodic maintenance tests. This
testing kit is portable equipment having high sensitivity, high accuracy and reliability with very little maintenance
and low cost. It is an essential device to ensure that the CB is tripped when called upon to do so.
