4Rs of learning We will look at the skills of resourcefulness, reciprocity, resilience, and reflectiveness and think about how we can develop and use them so that we can become more effective learners and members of a community. We will put these skills into practice when designing and explaining small team games in PE and Games In English we will be looking at issues and dilemmas and writing from different characters points of view as well as using descriptions to describe settings or actions. We will also be writing instructions. In maths we will be learning about place value to 1000 and developing formal and informal methods for recording. We will recognise number sequences and develop our understanding when multiplying and dividing, using our 2x, 5x, 10x, 3x and 4x tables. Rights and Responsibilities We will think about our rights within the school and class and look at ways in which we can be effective in the different communities and groups to which we belong. WHO DO I WANT TO BE? th Date: 5 Sept - 7 Oct Yerbury Class OUR VALUE: - FRIENDSHIP We will study different religions and beliefs to help us to decide for ourselves what is the best way to live and how we might care for each other. We will make puppets in DT to help us create a community and think about ways in which they can work together or resolve friendship issues. We will use our Music skills to compose the words and music for a song that focuses on being a good friend. Our art skills will involve using different materials and media to make skin tones and then create pictures of ourselves and our friends. By using the portraits of Picasso, we will explore his ideas and create portraits that show different feelings and the colours associated with them. Anti – bullying We will use stories and pictures to create drama scenes and think about the outcomes of events from different points of view and look at ways in which they can be resolved. Our geography work will focus on the story “ The Village of Round and Square Houses” where we will compare and contrast different localities and the different customs and lifestyles.
