Upon successful completion of UNV 101, MWSU students will be able to:

Understand and have knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures, and
resources of the university.
a) Use the university catalog and other materials to locate policies, plan a
program of study, and learn about other academic endeavors.
b) Calculate their GPAs and access midterm and final grades.
c) Act as responsible members of the MWSU community.
d) Identify and use available University resources, technologies, practices, and
procedures.
Have knowledge of the appropriate academic skills necessary to successfully
compete at the collegiate level.
a) Utilize the academic resource centers, including but not limited to the library,
the computer labs, and the Center for Academic Support.
b) Use the information technology available on campus including e-mail,
Moodle, the GoldLink system, computer-assisted learning programs.
c) Develop strategies for balancing school, work, family, spiritual, social, and
physical well-being through time and stress management techniques.
d) Discuss and/or debate issues in small groups as well as present ideas to
larger groups.
e) Demonstrate college-appropriate writing skills.
Assess and develop study skills, critical thinking skills, and strategies for
academic success.
Formulate clear and precise questions over identified problems.
a) Gather, assess and interpret relevant information.
b) Test conclusions against relevant criteria and standards.
c) Communicate, orally and in writing, effectively to determine solutions to
complex problems.
