Yes it is a challenging world of business now when anyone can anonymously post whatever they like on forums.
We find ourselves having to spend significant resources to defend our product against this sort of attack. There is a lot of competition out there now and forums are an easy way to be an expert, flex muscles and discredit companies.
Please be very careful of advice given on forums.
There has been no airworthiness basis for this attack. It was purely personality driven.
As an aside if you would like to research the Porsche 911 engine which is a horizontally opposed air cooled engine similar to our engine you will find that on the question of piston pin offset, they in fact offset the piston pin in different directions on opposite sides of the engine. The reason being, they did not want to build left or right pistons. Obviously they didn’t think piston pin offset was an issue.
