JHW ENGINEERING & CONTRACTING and EVERGAS agree for the construction of
four option two INEOS MAX 32,000M3 liquefied ethane/ethylene carriers.
We are pleased to announce that Evergas and JHW Engineering & Contracting have entered into
an agreement for the construction of four option two INEOS MAX 32,000M3 liquefied
ethane/ethylene carriers.
Kevin Zhu, CEO of JHW, and Philippe Rochet, Executive VP of JACCAR Holding, on behalf of EVERGAS
The INEOS MAX 32,000M3 liquefied ethane/ethylene carriers are expected to carry a range of
innovative features specifically tailored for safe, environmentally friendly and efficient operations.
The cargo capacity has been increased more than 10% by optimizing the design of cargo tanks as
well as layout of ship, without changing the main dimensions compared to the latest designs of
27,500 M3 class gas carriers. The dual fuel propulsion flexibility including LNG and ethane and the
optimized ECO hull design will significantly reduce emissions, and the ballast water treatment
system will protect the sea water environment. To document the green vessel profile the vessels
will receive Clean ship notation, Green Passport, EEDI phase III compliance, etc.
The INEOS MAX 32,000M3 carriers will be delivered to Evergas from first quarter of 2018 onwards

and will be built at a selected shipyard in China.
The four option two INEOS MAX 32,000M3 liquefied ethane/ethylene carriers will release the LNG
transportation capacity of the existing Dragon series of 27,500M3 LNG carriers. Till today, three of
total eight 27,500M3 LNG carriers have been delivered to Evergas for bringing US ethane from shale
gas to INEOS’ manufacturing sites in Europe, with five vessels remaining. With delivery of the INEOS
MAX, the 27,500M3 LNG carriers will be available for trade on the growing mid-size LNG
transportation market.
