P Pump system for Fluid Supply
Two P-Pump Remote Basic units are shown, with Remote Reservoirs. One reservoir is fitted with a 3-way lid, to allow up to 3 different fluids to be delivered to the Pressure-
Driven Resealable Chip Interface System. The second Reservoir has a single fluid port, and is optimized for agitation of suspensions using a “tapping” method. It can also be used for delivery of larger quantities of fluid, for example for wash solutions.

The Dolomite Centre Ltd
The Pressure-Driven Resealable Chip Interface System is ideal for applications where a sealed microfluidic device is not suitable, such as biosensor testing, cell culture and analysis, diaelectrophoresis experiments, impedance detection, and interfacing with silicon chips and sensors. The Resealable Chip offers customization to the n th degree. Its versatility stems from the scientist being able to easily take the chip apart and put it back together over and over again, this makes it a tool with many uses that are appropriate across a variety of applications. Examples of Pressure-Driven Resealable Chip Interface
System applications include:
Where access to the chip surface is required, eg to print or spot biologically active materials and then perfuse fluids over those materials.
Where cleaning or replacement of some parts of the system are required between experiments
Where one part of the device is provided by the user, for example a sensor or an array of cells, which must be exposed to fluids by assembling it into the Pressure-
Driven Resealable Chip Interface System.
Reagents, sensors, biosensors or cells can be deposited on the chip base layer. The chip base layer is typically glass, quartz, or polymer. Fluids are then flowed through channels in the gasket layer over the deposited sensors or reagents. The depth of the channels in the gasket is typically between 100-500 microns.
Low profile allows viewing with a microscope
Excellent chemical resistance
Easy to clean
Eight fluidic and eight electrical connections
Allows deposition of reagents, sensors or cells onto channel surface

The diagram below shows a complete system which allows the scientist to deliver a range of fluids into the Pressure-Driven Resealable Chip Interface System. Two P-Pumps are used in this system. The Mitos P-Pump Remote Basic is recommended, as it allows use of a remote reservoir. These reservoirs can be placed in a chamber for temperature control and to ensure a sterile environment. The reservoir contents can also be agitated if required, for example to maintain cells or beads in suspension. The fluidic schematic is shown below.
