Andrew has over 25 years’ experience working for both
Commonwealth and State governments in senior management
roles in the employment, education & training (EET) program
delivery and policy areas. Andrew also managed a University
Careers Advisory service, had a senior management role with a
private training provider, as well as a consulting and private
practice working primarily in career transition and rehabilitation.
Andrew's current role as a Senior Policy Manager with the
Victorian Employers' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VECCI)
brings a focus across EET policy nationally through Australian
Chamber of Commerce & Industry Committees and Working
Groups. Andrew has been involved in many committees,
reference groups, Industry Training Advisory Boards as well as
Ministerial appointments to advisory boards in employment and
education. Current Board appointments include being a Director
of the Community Services & Health Industry Skills Council and
Associate Professor Peter McIlveen PhD is Associate Dean
(Academic) with the Faculty of Education, University of Southern
Queensland, Australia.
Peter is a psychologist and member of the Australian
Psychological Society College of Counselling Psychologists. He
teaches and researches educational psychology and counselling
psychology topics, including career counselling, career
development learning and adult learning, and the construction of
professional identity. Most recently, Peter was invited to
contribute a chapter to the American Psychological Society’s
upcoming and definitive Handbook of Career Interventions. Peter
joined the national executive committee of the Career
Development Association of Australia in 2012. He has also served
on the Career Industry Council of Australia as vice-president and
was president of the National Association of Graduate Careers
Advisory Services.

Marjolein is the founder and Managing Director of Career
Management Group Pty Ltd. Passionate about developing
employees’ awareness and skills to manage their own careers,
Marjolein and her team have worked with thousands of
employees affected by redundancy in addition to providing career
strategy, career decision, career empowerment programs and
executive mentoring and coaching services.
Her background prior to creating her own business in 2001 was in
senior executive Finance and Leadership roles; primarily engaged
in organisational mergers, downsizing, outsourcing and
restructures. Marjolein was also a Director at DBM for two years.
Marjolein is also a Board Member of four other organisation;
three of which she is chairing.
On a personal note, she rides a motorbike for fun, loves snow
skiing and lives in Melbourne.
Jo has been a member of CDAA since June 2005. She has been
serving on the NEC since 2011 and has taken on the role of
National Secretary in May 2013. She has been a member of the
Queensland Committee, where she undertook the roles of Vice
President and General Committee Member.
She has worked in the Queensland Government for many years,
predominantly in the area of Human Resource Management
(generalist and Organisational Development) but also in areas as
diverse as Business Improvement and Litigation Management. Jo
is the founder and Director of Power Careers and Consulting, a
small private practice specialising in career coaching,
outplacement, corporate training and RTO participant course
coaching, which she set up in 2007. She holds a Master of Career
Development and a Bachelor of Education (Adult and Workplace
Education). She is passionate about career development and
raising its profile as a key to helping individuals achieve their full
potential.

Dr Ann Villiers is Australia's only Mental Nutritionist® and a sensemaking specialist, focusing on mind and language practices that
enable people to think flexibly, speak confidently and build quality
connections.
Narelle has been a member of CDAA since 2006. She served on
the NSW Division Committee from 2010-2012, and was appointed
to the NEC in January 2013. She chairs the Learning and
Development Committee.
She is a professional speaker, workshop leader, career coach and
author. A Professional Member of CDAA, she has served the ACT
Division as President, Secretary.
She is a registered Organisational Psychologist and manages the
design and delivery of Challenge Consulting’s People Services
Consulting projects, including: career guidance, outplacement
services, training and facilitation, leadership and team
development and organisational development. Narelle holds a
Master of Psychology (Organisational) and has presented and
published research on career development internationally. She
was awarded Best Paper at the Academy of Management
Conference for her research on Generational and Career Stage
Differences, and presented research examining “new career”
theories at the International Congress of Applied Psychology and
CDAA Conference. She is passionate about helping to ensure that
the excellence of CDAA members helps them stand out as leaders
in the field of career development.
Ann is nationally known for her work in demystifying government
selection processes for applicants and panels. Her current
business career is complemented by academic and public sector
management careers.
She has been serving on the NEC since early 2012 and is the chair
of the Public Affairs Committee, which had its first meeting in late
2012.

Pam is a senior human resources and change management
professional with diverse and extensive experience gained from
working in the public and private sectors. Pam has also worked in
a broad range of industries including electricity, consulting,
financial services, retail and professional services in both line and
project management roles. This breadth of experience in
functional and industry spheres provides her with a unique
perspective.
Pam’s focus is on working with individuals and organisations to
support, guide and assist their journey through transformational
change. Her ability to develop and implement effective and
pragmatic strategies is due to her strong analytical ability and the
credibility her personal career experience engenders. Pam joined
CDAA in 2009. She was the Victorian Division President in 2011
and 2012 before recently joining the NEC.
Her hobbies include hiking and supporting motorcycle racing (as a
coach, volunteer official and pit crew/team manager).
Helen Strickland is the founder of Strickland Solutions, a business
which provides a range of business and career management
consulting services.
She has strong management and leadership experience in
education, career development, employment, regional
development and community organisations. Helen has extensive
Board experience in regional health, education, training and
regional development settings, and currently in the banking
industry. She has leadership experience in schools, including as a
principal in primary and secondary school settings.
Prior to creating her own business Helen initiated and managed
the Career Development Centre in Mount Gambier in 2006, which
has become the model for community based career development
in South Australia.
She is particularly interested in building community
understanding and commitment to a culture of career
development, with a broad perspective of the need to engage and
support all age groups in managing their career, so that they can
manage multiple career transitions.

Kate Flaherty works in private practice as a Career Development
Practitioner, Counsellor and MBTI® and MajorsPTI™ Consultant.
She enjoys assisting her clients to connect with their career story
and the contribution they wish to make and partnering them in
their journey towards bringing their career vision to fruition. She
has worked in career education and counselling for over 20 years
in the private sector, employment programs and schools.
She is a professional member of the CDAA, a Clinical Member and
Past President of the Counselling and Psychotherapy Association
of Canberra and region and a registered Clinical Counsellor with
the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia. She
has worked extensively with the MBTI® and MajorsPTI™ and is a
member of the Australian Association of Psychological Type.
Kate is the convener of the Private Practitioner Network for the
division. She has a special interest in building professional
relationships and bringing professionals together to share their
skills and expertise.
Allan has over 30 years of exceptional leadership experience. He
holds an M. Ed. (Leadership & Management), specialising in
transition management. In 2011, Allan was appointed to the
Board of Governors for the Institute of Career Certification
International. He is also the Director of Programs at ACPI Inc. He
was recognised for his services to the career development
industry by being included in the 2010 -2011 Stanford Who’s
Who.
Allan first became engaged in career development when he was
appointed as a school careers adviser in 1978. Shortly after he
was appointed as a Senior Education Officer (Student Welfare).
He worked in a similar role in both public and private education
and soon after was appointed as a school principal.
During these years, career development and change management
remained at the centre of his leadership style. He was nominated
for a National Award for Quality Leadership in school
development in 2005.

Kim has been working in the field of human development for the
past 30 years and is passionate about assisting others unfold their
potential and pathways in life. Kim has worked as a counsellor,
coach, mentor, trainer/facilitator and project manager in
government, non government, private, tertiary and community
sectors both in Australia and overseas. She skilfully blends her
extensive knowledge and experience in Neurosemantics (NLP),
Dru yoga, Career and Diversity Coaching to provide a holistic and
transformative service to both individuals and groups.
Kim has worked extensively with diverse cultures both in Australia
and overseas and is currently living and working in Darwin, NT
providing coaching, training and mentoring services to Indigenous
Australians, as well as running a small private practice.
When not working, Kim teaches Dru Yoga and trains with the
Arafura Dragon boat team (which won a Gold medal in 2012 at
the International Club Crew competition).
Gillian Kelly has been in the career sector for more than 15 years
assisting individuals at all levels to achieve their career goals.
Gillian is a Director and Senior Career Coach with Outplacement
Australia, a private career consultancy specialising in
outplacement, career transition and Defence-to-civilian career
transition. Her passion is career marketing and helping those in
career transition to move forward with confidence.
She is a certified and award-winning Master Résumé Writer,
certified Personal Branding Strategist, certified Resume Specialist
in Defence-To-Civilian Transition and certified Master Executive
Resume Writer. In 2014, she was an invited judge for the Toast of
The Résumé Industry Awards.
A past winner of CDI Master Resume Writer Lifetime Achievement
awards, she holds a Bachelor of Business, a Post-grad Cert Career
Development and a Post-grad Dip. Adult & Vocational Education.

Caroline Cleland

Caroline currently works as a private practitioner. She works with
individuals and groups to help people make decisions, to find new
directions, or to gain employment.
She has a background in education and also in career information
services with the myfuture website. She has also worked as
coordinator of an education and employment program for
homeless women and enjoys part-time project work, most
recently working with SA Unions on the pilot project, Retraining
Injured Workers for Employment.
As a former English and French teacher, her interests include
communication but extend increasingly towards technology and
e-facilitation, especially finding ways to better connect and
engage with clients, colleagues and fellow practitioners.
She has been a professional member of CDAA since 2009, and a
student member previously. She took over the role of SA
Divisional President in 2013.
Kim’s career spans 16 years, in the occupations of case manager,
recruitment consultant, rehabilitation counsellor, human resource
management consultant and trainer and assessor. Her current
work focus is vocational rehabilitation, and her own business,
Tidswell Consulting, was established in 2007. The philosophy of
the business is 'The Value of Work': our life, our future plans, our
learning and growth, and how we see our place in society is
strongly shaped by the work we do. This philosophy underpins
Kim’s service development and delivery - she has developed a
four-stage Career Transition Program that is aimed at achieving a
successful employment outcome for clients who face barriers to
participation in the workforce. Kim launched the Vocational
Assessment Centre (a division of Tidswell Consulting) in 2014.
Kim is also a Workcover-accredited Workplace Rehabilitation
Provider, and an Injury Management Coordinator in Tasmania and
provides vocational rehabilitation and redeployment services for
the Motor Accidents Insurance Board, and case consultancy
services to the legal profession in personal injuries matters.

Allan works in private practice and is passionate about career
development as a concept. Allan has well over 20 years providing
career development support to individuals and diverse
occupational groups and works on a range of activities including
career development/transition for adult workers, training,
outplacement, classification reviews and documentation for
clients in Government, Private and Education sectors.
Prior to establishing Wavelink Consulting, he worked in a variety
of roles within the Victorian State Government, including as a
senior Workforce Management Consultant advising on
redundancies and managing redeployment issues in Victorian
Public Service Commission. Prior to this his work was mainly in
organisational review and resource management within State
Corrections and Community Services where he undertook a major
study in disaster management and disaster recovery. He later
studied to be a Prosecutor in the Victorian Magistrates’ Court and
was appointed a “Commissioner” under the “Evidence Act,
Victoria.
Peter is a Life member and Fellow of CDAA. Having served on the
NEC for 21 years, predominately as National Treasurer, he was
National President from 2005 to 2008, chaired several subcommittees and was a founding member of the Association. He
was an Executive member of the Tasmanian before taking on the
role of WA Division President.
Peter has been an organising committee member of several CDAA
national conferences and has served on the CICA board. Peter
works as a Curriculum Consultant for the Catholic Education
Office of WA and does consultancy work for the University of
Notre Dame, Edith Cowan University and the Curriculum Council.
With more than 30 years experience in the career development
field, his research and work has been published in numerous
national and international journals and he has been invited to
speak at several national and international conferences.
