EQUIVALENT DATA ANNOUNCES SHORTER NAME, SUGGESTS BIGGER PLANS
Information management leader positioned for strategic growth
Houston, Texas (September 19, 2014) – Equivalent DATA LLC, a leading provider of data
software and services for legal, government, and compliance groups, has shortened their name to
EQD. In August of 1994, EQD opened its doors as The MedLeh Group, primarily focused on
discovery services for litigation. Today, EQD has several lines of business including its proprietary
electronic discovery software, needlefinder.
“The abbreviated name was largely driven by our customers and staff who often refer to us as
EQD,” says Mike Medrano, CEO and president. “The name change and corresponding rebrand not
only supports the numerous offerings we have today but allows us greater flexibility as we explore
organic and accretive growth opportunities in the future.”
The Company’s long-term agenda has not been publicly released but recent staff additions indicate
big plans. In September EQD added Carl Rice, the former head of Data Retention and Disposition
Architecture for Bank of America. In February, IBM alum, Bruce Lobona joined the team. “Not
only are we making a sizable investment in our technologies and our brand equity, we are
investing in people who bring a level of expertise and insight to EQD that is hugely beneficial as
we move forward,” states Medrano.
As part of EQD’s rebranding efforts, a website has been launched at www.eqd.com that showcases
current services and celebrates 20 years of operational footing. With a growing staff, strong
financial support, and long-standing business success the Company is well positioned for further
expansion.
