New Business Guard Rails in attic Interpretation letter issued by Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement on 9-5-2012 explains when guards are needed and where they are to be located. If no floor space in attic then no guards needed (SEE ATTACHED COPY FOR REFERENCE) Inspection on slabs If a sacrificial clear poly cover is placed over prepared slab, tented so that during rain. inspectors can walked on and conduct an inspection then we will performed that request. However if there are large pools of water then NO inspection will be made. This includes grade beams full of water. Duct test and Energy Efficiency Certificate N1101.9 duct test has to be done and certification signed. The blower test is optional if visual inspection performed. Options either: Visual-use the checklist or Blower door Mandatory test Building Consistency Meeting Residential Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) sticker and Tempered/Safety glass SHGC is needed to be affixed to the windows and will be inspected at the time of the framing inspection. Tempered and Safety glass will be inspected at the time of the framing inspection. Sticker for window needs to remain until after frame inspection Code cycle Bill to propose that the Residential code 6 years and Commercial stay at 3 years was introduce to the Legislature, will advise on progress of any approvals.
