Peter FASCHING, MD University Hospital Erlangen Germany Peter Fasching is an Associate Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Friedrich-Alexander University ErlangenNuremberg, Germany. He is a specialist of women’s cancers and specializes on the individualization of breast cancer therapies. From this experience he takes this knowledge and transfers it in the research setting into the personalization of breast cancer prevention, trying to integrate molecular and imaging characteristics into the screening for breast cancer. Furthermore he aims at the discovery of novel molecular targets for breast cancer prevention drugs with a more favorable benefit to risk ratio. He is editor of two German journals concerning with women’s cancers and has co-authored more than 250 peer reviewed research articles. He is member of several societies such as American, European and German societies for women’s cancer treatment and prevention. From 2007 to 2012 he was a research fellow at the University of California at Los Angeles, Division Hematology/Oncology, which is specialized in the discovery and translation of novel therapeutic targets in cancer treatment.
