In connection with registration for 2016 Summer Camp conducted by the Paramount Arts Center, I/we the undersigned acknowledge that I/we have been informed of
the activities to be offered and consent thereto, represent that child is in good health, physically fit and capable of participation in the arts programs and
performances to be offered; acknowledge the risks and hazards of physical injury inherent in these classes and hereby assume all such risks and hazards and I/we
hereby release, waive and agree not to assert against the Paramount Arts Center, its directors, teachers, officers, supervisors, agents or employees, any claim for
injury to child in consequences of or incident to such training, performance or other activities. In case of emergency, if the staff of the Paramount Arts Center
is unable to reach me/us by phone, or it is a situation that appears to require immediate emergency medical assistance, I hereby give my/our permission for the
staff to contact 911 and secure treatment for my/our child as named in the emergency information.

The Paramount believes that classes and workshops should be open to everyone
regardless of their financial status. The Paramount offers a limited number of
partial sholarships based on financial need. For a scholarship application

Summer
Camps
Cancellation Policy: PAC makes every effort to maintain the schedule of
summer camps as announced in the brochure. However, we reserve the right to
cancel any camp not meeting a minimum enrollment. Camp cancellations are
decided one week before the class begins. Fees are 100% refundable if PAC
cancels a camp due to insufficient enrollment.
Refunds and Credits: Cancellations made by the student or parent before the
start dates are 100% transferable to other camps if space permits. No refunds
will be made once tuition is paid. Camp fees are non-refundable.

Down on the Farm
8:30 – 10:30 AM (Ages 3-5)
Our youngest campers will explore life down on the farm as
they read, sing, act and dance their way through a variety
of books centered around a farm theme.

Hip Hop Dance
8:30 am – 12:00 PM (Ages 5-9)
Impress your friends with your new moves as you learn to
krump, break dance, pop lock, wave and more! A perfect
introduction to this dance style.

The ABC’s of Acting
8:30 am – 12:00 PM (Ages 9-14)
Learn basic acting skills while having fun! Audition
technique, stage terminology, makeup, scene work, theatre
games, improvisation and more!

Using Science to Make Art
8:30 am – 12:00 PM (Ages 7 – 13)
Explore a different side of arts and crafts as you use
science to explain how things work. All objects are
non-toxic and safe for children. Projects include making
your own slime, play dough, an exploding lunch sack, lava
lamp, color crawl, mosaic and more!

Build Your Dream: Production Construction
8:30 am – 12:00 PM (Ages 12 – 18)
This class will give students the opportunity to make
themselves familiar with one of the most important parts of
the theatre world – set construction. Design, construct,
paint and decorate set pieces for use in summer
production camp and Paramount Players summer show.

Hip Hop Intermediate Dance
12:30 – 4:00 PM (Ages 10 – 18)
Take your dance skills to the next level with the latest
dance moves and music with this intermediate level class.

Stories Come to Life
12:30 – 4:00 PM (Ages 6-11)
Characters from Classic stories as well as new ones will
leap off the page and come to life in this acting class.
Write dialogue for the characters, create costumes,
explore alternate endings and use your creativity to the
max!

Each camp will include a
performance for the parents/friends
on the last day of camp!
Making Videos: What it Takes
12:30 – 4:00 PM (Ages 12 – 18)
The best way to learn about what it takes to make
movies is to make one. We will explore the basics of
shooting video and editing to equip you with the
tools to make your own awesome videos.

Stage Makeup
12:30 – 4:00 PM (Ages 10 – 18)
Learn about the application of stage makeup and
how it is used to create characters on the stage.
We will create several different styles of makeup
and have the opportunity to apply them. Class
comes with a student Ben Nye Makeup Kit with
either light, medium, dark or ethnic shades.

The Wonderful World of Bugs
8:30 – 10:30 am (Ages 3-5)
Our preschool campers explore everything about
the world of bugs through an experience using
dance, music, creative drama, storytelling and art.

Dance Like Nobody’s Watching!
8:30 am – 12:00 pm (Ages 9-15)
Explore different dance styles, create your own
choreography and learn basic steps from many
forms of dance including jazz and hip hop.

Drawing Boot Camp
8:30 am – 12:00 pm (Ages 9-18)
Anyone can draw. It is a skill that can be taught.
This camp is an intensive exploration for students
who want to know the secrets and skills required to
produce realistic drawing and illustration. Students
will learn how to draw accurately with a variety of
media. The instructor will give students
individualized instruction and help with portfolio
development.

Disney Princess Dance Party
12:30 – 4:00 pm (Ages 5-9)
Explore the world of the Disney Princesses as you
learn dances, read stories, make costumes and do
art projects.

Getting Messy with 3-5 Year-Olds
12:30 – 2:30 pm (Ages 3-5)
Come dressed to get messy as you explore a
variety of art styles including finger painting,
sidewalk chalk, bubble art and more!

Drawing With Color
12:30 – 4:00 pm (Ages 9-15)
This class goes hand in hand with the Drawing Boot Camp and
uses the same techniques to teach drawing with color.
Students can take both classes for a comprehensive drawing
experience.

Week 3 July 18 - 22
Fun With Fairy Tales
8:30 am – 10:30 am (Ages 3-5)
Our preschoolers will become knights, princesses, dragons and
queens as we explore the world of fairy tales using storytelling,
creative movement, drama and arts and crafts.

Mixed Media Arts
8:30 am – 12:00 pm (Ages 8-13)
Students will learn a variety of art forms including drawing,
painting, origami, sculply tikis, bead making, collage and
basket making.

To the Moon and Back
8:30 am – 12:00 pm (Ages 6-10)
This arts and crafts class takes you to the stars, moon, planets,
earth, ocean and even your imagination as you bring the world
to life with art.

Two Week Production Camp July 11 – 22
Seussical Kids!
8:30 am – 4:00 pm (Ages 8-18)
This two week camp will offer a complete experience from auditions to performance. See what goes into bringing a play to the
stage! Learn how to design/build a simple set, costuming,
rehearsing, learn songs, dances, stage terms and much more.
The camp will end with a public performance on Friday, July 22
at 6:30 pm. Space in this class is limited.

Use a selection of fun catchy songs and learn sign language
as you sing! A beautiful performance at the end and a great
skill for everyone to know!

AUDITIONS
Ashland’s Junior Master Chef
12:30 – 4:00 pm (Ages 8-15)
Learn the basics of cooking, measuring, nutrition and more with
this fun class. Students will receive an apron and a chef’s
toque. (Students will be asked to provide kitchen supplies such
as measuring spoons and other small items)
Early Bird $100 After May 27 $125
A snack will be provided. Those staying
for a full day will need to bring lunch.
Campers should wear comfortable clothing.
All campers must be fully
potty trained before attending
a Paramount Arts Center
summer camp!

Please bring 16-24 measures of a Musical
Theatre song (with cut sheet music) or
accompaniment track in MP3 format. A
dance combination will be
taught at auditions and everyone will read
from the script.
