PROJECT PROFILE INTEGRATED SUPERVISORY CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SINGAPORE MRT – NORTH EAST LINE CUSTOMER Land Transport Authority of Singapore GENERAL Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited, in consortium with Thales Information Systems, was awarded a contract in 1997 to supply and install an Integrated Supervisory Control System (ISCS) for the North-East Mass Rapid Transit Line (NEL) in Singapore. The ISCS provides facilities for integrated, centralised and local control as well as the supervision of electrical and mechanical subsystems remotely located at the passenger stations, on-line power substations, depots, and tunnels. The NEL is one of Singapore's largest transportation infrastructure projects, encompassing 20 km of fully underground track with 16 new stations. It stretches from Harbour Front in the south of Singapore to Punggol in the north-east. These subsystems include tunnel ventilation, air-conditioning, escalator, power supply, lift, fire alarm, lighting control, and access management etc. When completed at the end of 2002, the NEL will boast the largest driverless system in the world. The ISCS also includes the Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) and Automatic Train Regulation (ATR) systems which control train operations to meet the different operating conditions and traffic requirements. The system is designed to enable the railway to operate smoothly and efficiently while ensuring the best conditions for safety and comfort. Data will be channeled from/to the CMS and SMS through this system. SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE The ISCS main components are: • An integrated Central Management System (CMS) at the Operation Control Centre (OCC) which provides overall control and monitoring of all the stations and depot. SYSTEM FUNCTIONS • An integrated Depot Control System (DCS) for monitoring and controlling the depot activities. The ISCS allows control and monitoring of the following systems and equipment: - Signalling system Platform screen door Power system Overhead collection system Communication system Lifts/Escalator/ Passenger travelator Environment control system Fire protection system SCOPE OF WORK • • • • • • • • System Design Installation Design Manufacturing & Procurement Project Management Factory Test and System Integration Testing & Commissioning Documentation Training Electric trains and trainborne equipment - Statistics PC Overview Projection Displays (OPD) Maintenance Screen From CCTV COMPUTERS (CMP) To Depot Control System (DCS) Operator Workstations (OPS GWS) Power & Facilities Regulator Position Train Service Regulator Position Fault Works Coordinator Position Spare Position Control Superintendent Position SCS Log Printer ATS Log Printer DB Log Printer Laser Printer Event Printer Colour Printer Event Printer SCS Server Print Server REMOTE PC DB Server ATS Server Print Server DATA COMMUNICATION NETWORK NMS Router Modem PMS NMS Printer RTU Router Administration workstation To Routers COMMUNICATION BACKBONE System Configuration Diagram SINGAPORE TECHNOLOGIES ELECTRONICS LIMITED 24 ANG MO KIO STREET 65 SINGAPORE 569061 TEL: (65) 6481 8888 FAX: (65) 6482 1803 WEBSITE: www.stee.stengg.com (Regn.
