CITY OF SURREY – PROPERTY TAXES AND UTILITIES How to Setup and Access My Property Accounts My Property Accounts First‐time User Instructions My Property Accounts is an online service that allows homeowners and businesses to access information about their City of Surrey property tax and utility accounts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. My Property Accounts is easy to use and requires only a web browser, Internet connection, email address and your account information provided on your tax and utility notices. If you do not have your tax or utility notice, please call our office at (604) 591‐4181 to request a copy to be mailed to you. Due to security reasons we do not provide the access code over the phone. Go to the My Property Accounts web page at: www.surrey.ca/mypropertyaccounts 1.1 Select 'Register now' to create your My Property Accounts profile. (see image 1.1) Image 1.1 First time users will need to create a User Profile before you can login. Click on the “Register now” to start. 1 CITY OF SURREY – PROPERTY TAXES AND UTILITIES How to Setup and Access My Property Accounts 1.2) The Profile Registration Page will appear. (see image 1.2 for Profile Registration Page) Fill in the fields required for registration. Note: the phone number must be ten digits Select a security question from the drop‐down list and enter the answer to the question in the space below. You may be asked this question in the future if you need to reset your password or communicate with City of Surrey staff. 1.3) Image 1.2 All fields must be completed before you can register. Once the information has been registered in our system, a confirmation screen will appear instructing you to check your email to complete the registration process. (see image 1.3 for Profile Confirmation) Image 1.3 – Profile Confirmation message Check your email to activate your profile. 2 CITY OF SURREY – PROPERTY TAXES AND UTILITIES How to Setup and Access My Property Accounts Step 2: Login to your Personal Email Account 2.1) Retrieve your email confirmation from “no_reply@surrey.ca” with the subject: City of Surrey – My Property Accounts Registration Profile. Check your junk mail folder if the email does not appear in your inbox. To complete the registration, you must click the link “here” provided in the message to activate your user profile. Retrieve your email from surrey.ca, click “here” to activate your account. You will be directed to My Property Accounts login screen. Sample email ‐ image may vary depending on your email service provider Step 3: Login to My Property Accounts 3.1) You will be directed to My Property Accounts sign‐in page. Enter your email address and password set up in the registration page and login. (see image 1.4 for Login Screen) Image 1.4 Sign in with your email address and password. 3 CITY OF SURREY – PROPERTY TAXES AND UTILITIES How to Setup and Access My Property Accounts Step 4(a): Register your Property Tax Account 4.1) Once you are logged in, you will need to register your property tax or utility account(s). Click the “Register” link to start the process. (see image 1.5) Image 1.5 To set up a property, in the “ACCOUNTS” tab, click “Register” accounts now. 4.2) To set up your property tax account, locate your “FOLIO NUMBER” and “ACCESS CODE” on your tax notice just below your mailing address. Enter your folio number as it appears on the notice with the dashes (‐). If your folio number ends in an “X” you must use upper case. Enter the access code provided on your notice. (see image 1.7) Image 1.7 – Account Registration Form Locate your folio number and access code from your tax notice and complete the Account Registration Form 4.4) A red notation will appear to indicate that the account has been successfully registered. (see Image 1.8) Image 1.8 You will be informed of the account registration status on the same screen. 5.1) To view your Property Tax Account, go to the “Accounts” Tab and double‐click on your folio number. (see image 1.9) If you have multiple properties in Surrey, you may add more properties by repeating the process from steps 4.1 – 4.3. Image 1.9 Go to the “ACCOUNTS”. From here, using the navigation menu on the left, you may view account balances, property assessments, property tax levies, transaction history and owners. (see image 1.10) Image 1.10 – Tax window showing account details CITY OF SURREY – PROPERTY TAXES AND UTILITIES How to Setup and Access My Property Accounts Step 4(b): Register your Utility Account 6.1) To set up your utility account, locate your “ACCT NUMBER” and “ACCESS CODE” on your utility notice on the top right corner. (see image 1.11 for sample utility notice) Image 1.11 Locate your ACCT (account) NUMBER and ACCESS CODE on your utility notice. OWNER PROPERTY 6.2) In the “Register Accounts” tab, use the drop‐down menu and select “Utility” in the drop‐ down menu. Enter the Account Number and Access Code as shown on your notice. You will be notified once the account has been successfully registered. (see image 1.9) If you have multiple utility accounts in Surrey, you may “Register” more properties by repeating the step 6.2. Click the “ACCOUNTS” tab to Image 1.13 see the registered utility account. Double‐click the UTILITY Account number to see your account details. Click “Register” to add more accounts. 6.4) A new window will appear with your utility account details. The screen will be different depending if your utility account type is annual or metered.
