1 Dear Final Year Social Work Student, On behalf of all staff we would like to welcome you into the final year of your Social Work course. We congratulate you on your successful completion of last year’s study and look forward to working with you throughout 2016. This letter contains important information about your studies in 2016. Please read this letter carefully. Please note that there are no on-campus orientation sessions for final year students. However, there are several preparatory steps you will need to take to be ready for Semester 1 (which commences on 22nd of February 2016). To help you plan, we have included a checklist on the final page. Your enrolment Please check your enrolment for the whole of 2016 is correct and up to date. If you are planning to go on placement this year, you need to be enrolled in Social Work Practicum 2 and Advanced Critical Practice units as well as your Semester 1 units. This will ensure that you receive information about preparing for placement in Semester 1. Lectures in final year units All lectures and associated learning material will be once again available and delivered via MyLO. Unit outlines will be available on MyLO. You will be able to access MyLO for each unit on the first day of semester: Monday 22nd February. All units will have online material to view in Week 1 and Week 2 so when you arrive for your first tutorial, it is expected that you have already watched the online material, read the associated readings and attended to the homework set (where relevant).
