WaitListisaqueueofspotsforselectedclassesthatenrollseligiblestudentsin
theclassasseatsopen.Severalstipulationsexistforstudentswhowishtobewait
listedforaclass:Studentsarenotguaranteedaspotintheclassbyjoining
theroster,andshouldnotexpecttobeenrolledbywaitlistinginaclass.
HowdoesWaitListwork?
 AstudenthastomeetseveraleligibilityconditionstogetontheclassWaitList(below).
 InterestedstudentsregisterasaWaitListstudentwhentheclassisfull.
 EachstudentispermittedtoWaitListupto8credithours.
 Asseatsintheclassopen,studentsareautomaticallyenrolledintheordertheyjoinedthe
WaitList.
 IfastudentisnolongerinterestedinbeingonaWaitList,itisthestudents’
responsibilitytodropthecourse(removethemselvesfromtheWaitList).Ifa
studentdoesnotremovethemselvesfromtheWaitListandtheresultisenrollment
inacourse,theymustdropthecoursepriortotheendofdrop/add,otherwisethey
willberesponsibleforanyfinancialandacademicimpacts.
WhenwillWaitListstudentsbeenrolled?
 PeriodicallyeachdayHUBcheckstoseeifaclasswithaWaitListhasaspaceavailablefor
waitlistedstudents.Ifso,itwillenrolltheeligiblestudentsbyorderoftheirWaitList
position.AWaitListstudentisnotenrolledimmediatelyafteradifferentstudentdrops
thecourse,buttheseatremainsheldforWaitListstudentsuntilHUBrunsitsprocess.
 Thisprocesswillcontinuethroughtheendofdrop/add.
 Anemailwillbesenttonotifystudentsiftheyhavebeenaddedtothecourseorifthe
processattemptedtoaddthembuttherewasanissue(seeFAQs)
HowtobeeligibleforWaitList?
 ClassmustbeenabledbythedepartmenttoacceptaWaitList.
 Classhastobeclosed.
 Thestudenthastohaveavalidenrollmentappointmentoritisopenenrollment.
 Thestudentdoesnothaveanegativeserviceindicator(hold)thatpreventsregistration.
 Thestudentmeetsclasspre‐andco‐requisites,ifany.
 RegistrationcomplieswithUB’srepeatpolicy.
 **Thestudentisnotalreadyregisteredinanothersectionoftheclass.**
 **Thestudentdoesnothaveatimeconflictwithanothercourseintheirschedule.**
 **Thestudentwillnotexceedmaximumtermunitlimits.**
**TheWaitListfunctionwillnotpreventyoufromsigningupfortheWaitListinthese
situations,howeverifaseatbecomesavailable,HUBwillnotbeabletoaddyoutotheclass
andyouwillbeskippedover.YouwillremainontheWaitList,buttheseatwillbegivento
thenexteligiblepersonontheWaitList.YoumaybeabletouseSwapinthesescenarios,
refertotheFAQsattheendofthisdocumenttolearnwhentousSwap.
