JOB DESCRIPTION
As a member of the Wesdome Maintenance Team, you are responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient
maintenance of the Mill site.
Your primary responsibility under the direction of skilled trade’s journeyman will be to effectively provide
maintenance throughout the facility, to effectively perform a wide variety of work tasks, and to graduate
the Ontario Apprenticeship program. Throughout the 4 year apprenticeship program, responsibilities will
include:

Understanding the principles of sound and safe trade practices.
Interpret drawings and plans, and be able to layout and develop projects according to
specifications.
Use the tools of the trade in a safe and proper manner.
Perform assigned tasks in accordance with quality and production standards required in industry.
Have a thorough appreciation of operating processes and their interrelationship with maintenance
and operations
Read blueprints and drawings to determine work procedures.
Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
according to layout plans and using hand power tools.
Inspect and repair machinery and equipment in a timely manner.
Assembly machinery using hand tools and power tools.
Hoisting, rigging, and operation of forklifts.
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

Successful completion of Grade 12 or the minimum Ministry of training colleges and university
Apprenticeship Program requirements;
Valid drivers’ license;
High safety standards
Team oriented and self-motivated in a dynamic environment
1st, 2nd, or 3rd year Apprenticeship is an asset;
Must be proficient in standard software including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience would be an asset
Drug, alcohol and physical tests may be required.
