Clinical Trial Results, Globally

Established Clinical Trial Expertise in China
Quintiles has a long history of supporting clinical trials in China.
What began in 2003 as a partnership with Peking Union Medical
College Hospital has now grown into a 17,000 square-foot
downtown facility with a state-of-the-art central lab.
Our Beijing Central Lab is wholly Quintiles-owned and was first
College of American Pathologist (CAP)-certified in 2005. It is
co-located with the Quintiles Clinical Development Services
(CDS) office for China. Quintiles Central Laboratories in Beijing
provides overall project management, a centralized call center for
investigative sites — including Mandarin language support and
extensive testing capabilities across all major therapeutic areas.
As of the end of 2009, Quintiles Laboratories in China established
an Anatomic Pathology laboratory within our clinical laboratory
facility, to support tissue biomarker processing and analysis to
mitigate the restrictions or need for tissue sample export from
China. Our Anatomic Pathology laboratory in China is part of our
global network offering translational R&D and biomarker assay
development to support clinical development process.
Our long history of supporting clinical
trials in China includes a constantly
expanding list of services.
Part of a Truly Global Network of
Clinically Harmonized Central Labs
Quintiles offers a local presence — in China as well as anywhere
in the world you wish to conduct a study. Over time, we have
developed key relationships in local regulatory and shipping
communities. This gives us the ability to support investigators in
China — or around the globe — with kit building, protocols and
logistics, as well as a familiarity with local languages and customs.
Because we have greater control over every step of the process,
choosing Quintiles ensures uniform instrumentation and
standard operating procedures (SOPs), so that results from a
patient in Beijing are harmonized — directly comparable — to
those from a patient anywhere else on the globe.
