When he saw them, he ran from the entrance of the tent to greet them; and bowing to the ground, he said: ‘Sir, if I may ask you this favor, please do not go on past your servant. Let some water be brought, that you may bathe your feet, and then rest yourselves under the tree. Now that you have come this close to your servant, let me bring you a little food, that you may refresh yourselves; and afterward you may go on your way.’ The men replied, ‘Very well, do as you have said.’” ~ Genesis 18:2-5 ~ OFFERTORY July 9th – July 10th 2016 DSA Balance Due $ $ 7,446.00 14,444.39 ANNOUNCEMENTS MESSAGE FROM FATHER SHAWN Dear brothers and sisters in the Lord, I thank everyone who participated in Vacation Bible School this past week. I thank our coordinators and volunteers for their good work. Mindful of Faith Formation registration and in preparation for the pilgrimage to the Basilica of Saint Lawrence this August 10, I remind parishioners and guests to register in advance for programs and events. Neither I nor anyone in the parish desire to turn away anyone from an event or program, but there are parish and diocesan policies and various laws and ordinances that we are able to comply with best when we are able to prepare. Both I and parishioners do our best to post advance notice for meetings and events; in turn, interested persons or parties help us by registering in advance. Also, I am honored to offer the Sacraments of the Church to people of all ages; however, policies concerning sacramental preparation should be followed by those interested in receiving the Sacraments. I am often asked to give exceptions when cases would not be generally considered exceptional. Please ask me or the office staff about standard policies. We will be glad to explain them. I thank you for taking the time to read this and helping us grow more as the Body of Christ. Yours in Christ, Father Shawn JOB OPPORTUNITY Director of Gift Planning: The Diocesan Office of Development has an opening for a full-time Director of Gift Planning. STEWARDSHIP A “Stewardship Discernment” meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 19th from 3 to 4 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Kerry Ann Tornesello, Associate Director of Development from Charlotte will be heading the meeting. The meeting will give us the opportunity to learn what we really mean when we use the term “stewardship” and what the stewardship committee will do. There will be time for discussion and valuable input from participants. All are welcome. This is an important meeting and we are looking for good ideas from all interested members of our parish family. “Ecclesiastes says there is a time for everything—to prepare a meal and, when Jesus speaks, a time to listen.” Graziano Marcheschi
