The changes to the market will see an improvement in layout, infrastructure and community involvement. Fundamental changes to the 1976 hall will see many stalls removed and the whole of the area changed to accommodate fixed food vendors, a covered daily market and a functioning event space. The vision of the covered daily market is to create a wonderful space where Speciality Private Operators, Communities, Academia and Not for Profit institutions From the whole of Yorkshire and Humberside can trade, retail and showcase their products or service. Operators are therefore invited to contact the City Council to book the covered daily market and Event Space. Certain Markets that have a real specialism about them are invited to book weeks on end. The Covered Daily market and Events space are FREE to hire from May 2016- May 2017 We are looking for: Speciality markets including Craft, Teenage, Vintage, Home –made, Records, Memorabilia, Fashion, Jewellery, and textiles Charities, Special interest markets, Hobbies, Clubs and Societies. Educational colleges, Universities that wants to make retailing in a live market part of their syllabus or assessment Covered Daily Market specification: The Covered Daily Market is completely flexible; we can accommodate small private Operator’s with up to 20 stalls to larger operators of up to 73 stalls. The area will be supplemented by specially selected hot food vendors, trading permanently to supplement the Specialist market offer. Some stalls will have access to electricity. • Small Market (20 stalls) and Large Market (73 stalls). • Free for a limited time only from May 2016 for one year only • Days of Trading. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday • Trading times from 10am until 4.30pm • Set up 7pm- 7am night before trading • De-rig from 5.00pm- 7pm on the final day of trading. Depending on your requirements,operators will be able to set up the night before. Access is available from 7pm to 7am the day before trading. Traders arriving on the day of trading will be granted access from 8.30am in the morning. Each trader will be allocated a 15 minutes time slot to access the area and unload their stock. Traders wishing to collect and remove their stock will be allowed access from 16.30hrs this will also be managed by a time slot allocation of 15 minutes per trader. The 10m x 10m Event space comes complete with PA system, Overhead projector and screen. The Event space can also be booked independently on a daily basis. Educational establishment promoting products and services, student union etc. Dance or Fitness Classes Cooking demonstrations Exhibitions.
