Job Description Service Technician JOB DESCRIPTION – SERVICE TECHNICIAN Reports to: Supervisor Colleagues: Manager, Supervisor, Fitters and Apprentices Main Job Purpose: To work as part of the Centre team to carry out servicing and mechanical repairs on Customer vehicles in accordance with the ‘Standards of Service’ contributing to the delivery of 100% Customer Delight Technical Competencies: Tyres, Wheel Alignment, Oil changes Exhausts, Batteries, Welding / Cutting, Basic & Advanced Suspension and Basic & Advanced Brakes vehicle maintenance and servicing Main Responsibilities: Carry out vehicle servicing in line with the manufactures service schedules and the company guidelines. Identify worn & faulty components needs in accordance with the Company Standards and personal competencies Remove & refit components and carry out related adjustments in accordance with the Technical Standards & Work Instructions and personal competencies. Carry out additional works within their skill competence to contribute to the effective operation of the business. Contribute to Good Housekeeping routines including: Performing designated cleaning & maintenance duties as detailed on the Good housekeeping schedule Using resources economically Report faulty or damaged tools and equipment to an appropriate person Ensure that your actions reduce risks to Health & Safety by ensuring that: your own actions do not create any health & safety risks, in the workplace and on your journey to / from the workplace. You do not ignore significant risks in your workplace You take sensible actions to put things right, including reporting situations which may pose a risk to people in the workplace and seek advice Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and Customers by treating people with dignity and respect and taking pride in the appearance of the Centre and yourself. Place goods and materials in to storage and participate in stock routines as directed. Diagnose Customer needs by listening, responding and explaining to Customers. Understand and adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures Undertake the necessary training and skills development Ensure that all works carried out are conducted in accordance with the Companies procedures
