Aquatic Adventures
This camp packs five days of amazing
adventure! What happens to water
as it travels through our watershed?
What impacts do you have on our
water? Investigate the beach, trek into
the Cascades and seek out hidden
waterways by canoe. Collect water
samples as you explore and use our
wet lab equipment to test for chemicals,
measure dissolved oxygen and assess
aquatic system health. You’ll go from
mountain to sound and from field to
laboratory as you assemble the clues
needed to solve the “Mystery of
the Watershed.”

Back to the Future:
Innovate Edition with MOHAI
What is innovation? Where do good
ideas come from? Join MOHAI and
Pacific Science Center as we explore
innovations from the past, develop our
own brilliant ideas for the future, and
discover what it takes to become a
master innovator. Spend your mornings
at MOHAI and the Bezos Center for
Innovation, where we’ll learn the special
skills that help innovators get creative
and think differently. Then walk to
Pacific Science Center to spend the
afternoons exploring the science behind
some great ideas. Explore solar power,
wind energy and bridge design to
investigate how science is fueling
innovation of the future.
ChemLab, Inc.
Congratulations! You’ve just been hired
by ChemLab, Inc.— a world-class
chemistry laboratory. Join your new
coworkers to conduct research on a
variety of household products, test ideas
and make recommendations based on
your findings. Analyze endothermic and
exothermic reactions and then design an
instant cold pack. Extract the chemical
components of toothpaste to evaluate
their effectiveness and analyze the water
density of popcorn. Test tubes, variables
and controls will all be used in this foray
into the life of a chemist!

What’s UP-cycling?
Calling all makers and DIY-ers: It’s time
to upcycle our trash into treasure as we
dive into the sustainability of stuff. Visit
the landfill to see what happens when
we throw things away. Then, take steps
to reduce our impacts on the planet.
Practice leaving no trace on hikes, make
your own recycled paper, and turn old
T-shirts into a new rug. Work on a
habitat restoration project to help
impacted spaces recover, and see what
happens when nature re-claims an area.
We CAN make a better world, one
person and upcycling project at a time!
