Gateway & Modem
This section details information about troubleshooting the WebSTAR DPR362
Wireless Cable Modem Gateway.
Reset Button
Briefly pressing the Reset Button, along with rebooting the Gateway & Modem,
will refresh the Gateway’s connections. If the Gateway locks up, press the Reset
Button or power it down for three to five seconds.
Pressing the Reset Button and holding it in for a few seconds will clear all of the
Gateway’s data and restore the factory defaults. This should be done only if you
are experiencing networking problems and have exhausted all of the other
troubleshooting options. By resetting the Gateway, you run the risk of creating
conflicts between the PCs’ actual IP Addresses and what the Gateway thinks the
IP Addresses of the PCs should be. You may be forced to reboot each network
PC.

Troubleshooting Tips
If the Gateway & Modem does not operate as expected, the following
troubleshooting tips may help:
•
The Gateway & Modem does not register a cable connection.
•
The Gateway & Modem works with a standard, 75-ohm, RF coaxial cable.
If you are using a different cable, the Gateway & Modem will not function
properly. Contact the cable service provider to determine whether you are
using the correct cable.
•
Verify that the plug to the Gateway & Modem AC adapter is properly
inserted into an electrical outlet.
•
Verify that the Gateway & Modem AC adapter is not plugged into an
electrical outlet that is controlled by a wall switch. If a wall switch controls
the electrical outlet, make sure the switch is in the ON position.
•
Verify that the Power and Cable indicators on the front panel of the cable
modem are illuminated.
•
Verify that all cables are properly connected, and that you are using the
correct cables.
•
Verify that the cable service is active and that it supports two-way service.
•
Verify that you have called the cable service provider and given them the
serial number and MAC address of the Gateway & Modem.
•
If you are using a cable signal splitter so that you can connect the
Gateway & Modem to other devices, remove the splitter and reconnect the
cables so that the Gateway & Modem is connected directly to the cable
input. If the Gateway & Modem now functions properly, the cable signal
splitter may be defective and may need to be replaced.
