SAFETY PRECAUTIONS when handling freshly mixed concrete Safety glasses Always protect your eyes against cement splatter or concrete spill – use eye protection. Work clothes Always wear coveralls with long sleeves and trousers, even in warm weather. Pull trouser legs down over your boots. Change clothing that has become saturated with fresh concrete. Work gloves Always protect your hands with waterproof gloves. Boots Always wear safety boots. Pull trouser legs down over boot shafts to prevent concrete seeping into the boots Knee pads and kneeling mats Always use knee pads and waterproof kneeling mats when finishing concrete floors. If expanded polystyrene is being used, it should be covered with plastic. Fresh concrete is caustic. Direct skin contact should be avoided. P280 Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. P302 + P352 IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. P305 + P351 + P338 IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
