MOVE IN Information for students living in: HINGSTON HALL (HA and HB), JESUIT, and GREY NUNS RESIDENCES The Residence Life Team looks forward to meeting you during Move-In Weekend. It's going to be a very exciting time for you. Please be sure to read all of the information provided, and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us. BEFORE MOVING INTO RESIDENCE The Residence Life Team strongly recommends that you read and familiarize yourself with the Community Living Standards and Discipline Code with respect to what your responsibilities are while living in residence. WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING - List of things to bring to live in residence. Moving into residence Move-In Weekend is August 29-30, 2015 Saturday, August 29th - 9am to 7pm Sunday, August 30th - 9am to 7pm YOUR MOVE-IN DATE AND ARRIVAL TIME - VERY IMPORTANT - We need to know when you will be arriving. Please complete the Concordia Residence Life - Check-In Confirmation Form by August 26th Loyola Campus – Hingston Halls (HA & HB) and Jesuit Residence Residents living in Hingston Hall (HA-HB) and the Jesuit Residence (JR) will go directly to their respective residence located at 7141 Sherbrooke Street West, (off West Broadway, Civic address 4455), Montreal, Quebec - See Map. Parking for Hingston Hall (HA & HB) and the Jesuit Residence is available at the front of each building during unloading, following which, all vehicles must be moved to the larger parking area near the Psychology building. Volunteers will be available to offer a helping hand. Sir George Williams Campus - Grey Nuns Residence Main entrance for both East and West sides of the building is 1190 Guy Street. HOWEVER for move in weekend please follow the instructions below: Arriving by car- Enter gate at 1200 Guy Street, (between Ste. Catherine Street and Rene Levesque Boulevard) Montreal, Quebec and receive/follow parking instructions: Students living on the East side will drop of their tagged luggage at the garage doors and then immediately exit via 1185 St. Mathieu (around the rear of Grey Nuns.). Students living on the West side parents will leave their student at the main entrance gate at 1200 Guy and proceed directly to the West side of Grey Nuns, drop off their tagged luggage and move out and find parking off the property. There will be volunteers on hand who will assist in bringing all baggage to your room. All students living in the Grey Nuns Residence are asked to go directly to room E-104 on the East side of the Grey Nuns Residence to check in. Parking is available on site for a very limited time to unload. Drivers are then asked to find street parking or in any of the parking lots around the residence. See Map. Arriving on foot - Residents can present themselves at 1190 Guy St. entrance, drop off their tagged luggage at the garage and proceed directly to room E-104. Directions to Concordia University - Directions to both Campuses If you get lost finding your building on your scheduled moving date here are a list of phone numbers for each of the buildings: Hingston Hall (HA & HB) (514) 889-4755 Jesuit Residence (514) 591-7355 Grey Nuns Residence (514) 463-2007 The Check-In Process On arrival you will: - sign your lease which starts on August 29, 2015 and ends May 2nd, 2015 (Exchange students only - lease dates August 29th to December 31st, 2015) - obtain the access card to the building, keys to your room and mailbox - sign a document giving Residence Life authorization to take your photo for security purposes - proceed to your room with a Resident Assistant or Residence Life Staff member and complete your room assessment sheet. We encourage you to actively participate in assessing your room as this will help you when you check out of your room. Guests (family and friends) are not invited to stay in residence with the students during MoveIn Weekend (August 29 and 30, 2015) and Orientation Week (August 31 to September 6) as well as the first week of classes (September 7 to 13) inclusive. Orientation session Students are given information about the Residence rules/regulations, as well as an opportunity to meet your fellow community members and the Residence Life Staff. The University Orientation is different from Residence Life Orientation. Orientation “FRESH” week activities The Residence Life Staff will be planning a variety of fun activities that begin with a BBQ on Monday, August 31 and continue throughout the week. A schedule of events will be provided to you when you arrive. Events being planned during FRESH week (August 31 to September 6) include: Ikea trip – Color Wars/Scavenger Hunt – Photo Exhibit – La Ronde – Tour of Le Gym – Stingers Football game and so much more!
