General information
The CodeWrights FF H1 Communication DTM is an interface between any FDT conformant frame
application (e.g. Endress+Hauser FieldCare, PACTware) and the FF device DTM. It enables the data
exchange between the device being connected to the Foundation Fieldbus H1 network and their
corresponding device DTM in the frame application using a National Instruments NI-FBUS (Series 2) card
and NI USB-8486.

Hardware information
The CodeWrights FF H1 Communication DTM uses the National Instruments NI PCMCIA-FBUS (Series 2)

card and NI USB-8486 to communicate with FF devices. The NI-FBUS Communications Manager – at least
version 4.1 - is also needed for operation. Normally the NI FBUS Communications Manager is delivered with
the NI PCMCIA-FBUS card. The NI FBUS Configurator is not needed.
Please note that this hardware and software are not part of the FF H1 CommDTM delivery.

License Conditions
The CodeWrights FF H1 Communication DTM can be ordered as end user licenses / single licenses only.
As there will not be a corporate or site license, CodeWrights instead offers quantity discount.
The single license is distributed on CD-Rom. The necessary hardware and software of National Instruments
is not part of this license agreement.
Support is available for questions regarding installation and use of the FF H1 Communication DTM via email
or telephone (please refer to the contact details).
Please note that development support is not covered by the support. Please contact us if you require specific
development support.
If not otherwise agreed, the regulations in “CodeWrights_General Conditions for the licensing of
Software_05_2006.pdf” apply.
