New Ultra-Low Profile FPC Connectors Feature a High Retention Lock
in High-Density Applications
May 2007—Schaumburg, IL USA—Omron Electronic Components LLC announces the
availability of a new series of low profile FPC connectors that feature a rotary locking
mechanism that offers easy operation and secure mounting in tight workspaces. These FPC
connectors are ideal for high-density tight packaging applications such as PDAs, cell phones,
media players, digital cameras, video players, test & measurement, and home security devices.
The XF3H is a 0.30mm pitch FPC connector with a profile of 0.90mm and a depth of 3.20mm.
The gold plated contacts are rated at 0.2A at 50V AC/DC and accepts 0.2mm FPC cable
thickness in 25, 35, 39, & 57 pins. The XF2K is a 0.40mm pitch model with a profile of 0.90mm
and depth of 3.20mm. The gold plated, double-sided contacts are rated at 0.2A at 50V AC/DC
and accepts 0.2mm FPC cable thickness in 57 pins. The XF2W is a 0.50mm pitch version with a
profile of 1.10mm and depth of 3.50mm. The gold plated, double-sided contacts are rated at 0.5A
at 50V AC/DC and accepts 0.3mm FPC cable thickness in 16, 20, 24, & 64 pins. Both the XF2K
and XF2W have rotary backlock mechanisms to prevent accidental disconnect. All versions are
available on tape and reel.
These connectors feature four-sided housing construction that prevents FPC displacement when
the lock is engaged or disengaged. The connectors’ reliable rotary locking mechanisms are

independent of the FPC socket. The connectors are delivered with the locking mechanism in the
open position thus improving production time when assembling FPCs into the sockets.
