BT and CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation) have an established relationship dating back to 1994 with CSC’s successful major outsourcing project for BAe plc. As strategic partners, the teaming arrangement provides powerful new outsourced IT management solutions for corporate and public sector customers that deliver improved productivity, profitability, agility and competitive edge. Our joint strategy is called ‘multi-sourcing,’ where organisations possessing corresponding strengths work closely and equally to deliver original and cost-effective outsourcing solutions.
CSC focuses on creating and delivering the outsourced element of the partnership equation while BT supplies the secure, reliable and global network underpinned by leading-edge network management capabilities. The two companies have worked together on a number of joint bids and successful government outsourcing projects, including for Marconi and the Royal Mail.

What the relationship means for BT & CSC
BT’s strength in network provision and management is perfectly complemented by
CSC’s expertise in providing outsourced solutions – in fact, more than half of CSC’s global revenues came from outsourcing in 2003. In turn, CSC is able to improve its customer offering by incorporating BT’s Information and Communications
Technology (ICT) infrastructure skills, assets and expertise in the integration of next generation network technologies. The two companies make an excellent fit: CSC benefits from BT’s strong UK brand and customer base that stretches across public and private sectors, allowing CSC to build its presence in Europe. BT benefits from CSC’s excellent European bid management and win record: the partnership enables both companies to grow their respective outsourcing offers and customer bases quickly.
