Please submit the above to CAISO at least 4 to 6 weeks prior to initial
synchronization
• Submit a copy of the SGIA/ LGIA to the ISO as soon as
the agreement is executed

Resource Data Template
• Complete and Submit Resource Data Template (RDT)
Owner/SC – Email the RDT to RDT@caiso.com after your
Scheduling Coordinator has reviewed the RDT.
(Please submit this to CAISO before 05/08/2012)
New Resource Interconnection
Control & Protection Documentation
Submit Control & Protection Documentation to CAISO for
Review (Grid-connected resources: 10 MW or greater
and 75 MW or greater for Wind Resources)
Requirements:
• Control & Protection for high voltage bus, generators and generator
step up transformers;
• One-line showing relaying/metering, CT/PT;
• Complete list of relay settings, including selected CT and PT ratios,
frequency set points if used, and copy of relay Certified Test Reports
after relay settings have been approved.
Please submit this to CAISO at least 4 weeks prior to initial
synchronization

• Final Interconnection Approval Letter from Transmission

All the above letters must be received by CAISO a minimum of 7
calendar days prior to initial synchronization

• Provide Letter of Acceptance from new SC Sent to

prior to initial synchronization

• Provide the Twenty-Four Hour Notice of Initial
Synchronization to CAISO (By telephone) –
– Contact CAISO Outage Management Monday-Friday 7AM3:30PM PST at (916) 351-2241
• Submit Test Energy Schedule to CAISO Outage
Management via e-mail or FAX –
– Submit a minimum of 1 business day prior to any generation

Initial Sync
• Receive overall approval for initial synchronization from
CAISO System Operations through the CAISO Project
Manager
CAISO System Operations has 2 business days to approve new
resource synchronization. All requirements must be met prior to
the submission of the resource to CAISO System Operations
• Contact CAISO Real-Time Generation Desk at (916)
351-2488 for initial and all subsequent synchronizations
