Aisin Seiki is establishing a development company in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, China

Our company will establish a company for developing automobile parts, “AISIN (NANTONG) TECHNICAL
CENTER OF CHINA CO., LTD.”, in Nantong City of Jiangsu Province, China.
In the past, our company has developed most of the automobile parts for the Chinese market in Japan and
the engineers stationed at our local affiliate production companies in Tianjin and other areas were
responsible for a limited range of development such as design for body parts (e.g. door parts, sunroof)
However, speed is essential to the development of automobile parts in fast-growing China and we need a
system that can quickly respond to demands of Chinese automakers on the spot, in order to expand our
business in China. It is also important to accurately capture the needs in the Chinese market and propose
products that match the needs of the market. Therefore, we decided to establish a new development
company in China. China will be the second country, after the US, where our company will have an
overseas development company.
The new company will receive 100% investment from Aisin Seiki and will be tasked with development
operations from Japan. It will start with 14 employees and plans to increase its workforce to about 50
employees by 2015.
Our company will gradually expand our products subject to development in China and aims to build a
system that enables this new company to play a central role in product development in China, including
not only design but also assessment and product planning.
