1) A nomination email should be sent to exchange@uwindsor.ca
listing the name, email address, major, and year of study for any
students selected to attend UWindsor. (at least 1 week before the
deadline)
2) Applications are completed online and found in the section for
“Visiting Exchange Students” on the UWindsor exchange website
(http://www.uwindsor.ca/exchange)

(please only give the password to students that have been
approved to come to UWindsor)
Application Deadlines
3) Supporting Documents (to be scanned and sent by mail to
exchange@uwindsor.ca):
 A photocopy of the information page from the student’s passport
 Recent transcript (in English)
- including a list of any classes that are currently being taken (even
if grades are not yet available)
 Language assessment form (required for students from schools
where English is not the primary language of instruction)
Complete applications for a September start (our 1st semester) are due
by April 30th (sooner is better)
Complete applications for a January start (our 2nd semester) are due by
Oct. 15th
* early applications are always appreciated
Students coming for 2 semesters must start in September
Nomination of any Law Student to be coming only for the second
semester (in January) should be received as early as possible (before
September, but sooner then this is even better)
Class Registration
All registration in classes will be done via the Exchange Office
Semester 1 - registration will happen in May
(with some changes permitted up until the 2nd week of classes).
Semester 2 - registration will happen at the start of November
(with some changes permitted up until the 2nd week of classes).
English Language requirements
** In the Faculty of Law registration for BOTH semesters will primarily
happen in June/July (modifications and changes permitted during the
first week of classes each semester)
Class are in English and no English Second Language classes are
available (unless students which to come a semester early and PAY for
the ELIP Program - www.uwindsor.ca/ELIP) - this is not available as
part of the exchange term.
We do not require any of the commercial tests - there is a form (sent
to the exchange office at your school that can be used.

Students who have English as their first language or are already doing
most of their studies in English do not need to submit any documents
proving language abilities
YES it is available to all exchange students.
The housing application is included as part of the exchange application
process. Basic information can be found on the Exchange website.
Semester 1: Deposits and other requirements are generally due
before the end of June (exact dates vary)
Semester 2: Deposits and other requirements are generally due
before the end of November (exact dates will vary)
ALL exchange students are required to purchase Health Insurance from
the University of Windsor. This insurance provides very good
insurance coverage for routine medical care and any medical
emergencies in Ontario and the rest of Canada.
