DRESSANDGROOMING:TheDistrict'sdresscodeisestablishedtoteachgroomingand
hygiene,instilldisciplineandmodesty,preventdisruption,avoidsafetyhazards,and
provideasuccessfullearningenvironment.Appropriatedressandgroomingstandards
promoteresponsibilityandself-esteem,fosteringasenseofcommunityforstudentsin
theirpresentandfutureinteractions.
Theprovisionsforthedressandgroomingcodeshallbeenforcedequallyforall
students.Ifastudentisnotincompliancewiththestandardizeddresscode,heorshe
willbeaskedtomakeappropriatecorrections.Repeatedoffensesmayresultin
disciplinaryactionasstatedintheStudentCodeofConduct.
Apparelwithinappropriatewriting,inappropriatedrawings,orinappropriate
advertisements,toincludebutnotlimitedtodrugs,alcohol,tobacco,violence,prison
activities,gangactivities,sexualinnuendoes,culturaldivisiveness,andracialintolerance
maynotbeworn.
Clothing
Anyitemofapparelorgroomingissuethatcreatesaproblemonthecampusmaybe
causefordisciplinaryaction.Ifneedarises,thisdresscodeissubjecttochangewith
appropriatenotification.
ConsequencesforviolationsofthedresscodewillbeoutlinedintheStudentCodeof
Conduct.Thedressandgroomingcodeappliestoanystudentwhileattendingaschool
sponsoredorschoolrelatedactivityonoroffofschoolproperty.
Studentsarerequiredtobeincompliancewiththedresscodeonthefirstdayofschool.
Newstudentstothedistrictmustbeincompliancewithin2weeksaftertheir
