Seeding Combination MSC Accord Seeding with high performance and great precision Kverneland Accord: State of the art seeding technology by the pioneer of pneumatic seed drills With the seeding combination MSC Kverneland Accord presents powerful seeding technology for the professional farmer and contractor. Quality without compromise, the MSC is ready for any operation: after the plough or for mulch seeding the MSC offers you the efficient equipment for all conditions. The requirements of agriculture have changed a lot. Narrow time slots have to be met with high performance. Various soil conditions require flexible technology to comply with all the demands of modern cultivation. With the seeding combination MSC Kverneland Accord offers high quality seeding technology – everything the professional farmer requires. The difference will be in the yield, with the seed the basics for your next harvest are sown. High precision in distribution and precise depth control are the conditions for a safe and even field emergence and therefore for a high financial return. These requirements are met perfectly with the seeding combination MSC. The exact seed placement due to the choice of tools always presents an outstanding result. MSC seeding is of highest efficiency. Sophisticated efficiency of all details Front packer | disc harrow section Only the universal equipment of the MSC ensures the optimum conditions for your seeds. The special design of the MSC results in maximising field emergence – the basic need for increasing your farms profitability Wheel packer for depth control The combination of front and rear wheel packer optimises the coulter depth control and ensures their calm running even at high working speed. At the same time soil cultivation is done just at the right depth – saving fuel and power. Due to the exact working depth only that amount of soil is moved which needs to be moved. Excessive weight transfer onto the rear axle of the tractor, especially on loose ground, results in soil compaction and deep tractor tracks. This is avoided by the MSC 2-axle system where the machine weight is distributed on both axles of the MSC. Pneumatic system With more than 50000 units sold, the Kverneland Accord pneumatic system is probably the best-known in the world. Proven and robust technology with the highest precision are the main characteristics of our metering and distribution system. Seed return flow When tramlining the seeds from the closed rows are returned from the distribution head to the seed hopper by the combi valves. This results in a saving of seeds up to 8% compared with competitors. A best in class hopper capacity of 3700 litres on the rigid and 3900 litres on the folding machines (3 big bags of 1000kg + rest) ensure the highest capacity. Reconsolidation | seeding | capillary action Wheel packer for reconsolidation A constant weight distribution over the total working width of the wheel packer (independent of the hopper level) optimizes not only the capillary action but provides the coulters with a perfectly leveled and reconsolidated seed bed. It implements the sequence of the tools recommended forplant cultivation: “first packing then sowing”. A large dimensioned wheel packer controls the leveling after cultivation and improves once more the soil structure before seeding. The reconsolidation ensures the capillary action. The wheel packer ensures reconsolidation in the field and safe road transport. The MSC is prepared for the fitting of pneumatic or hydraulic brakes as standard. The brackets which each support two wheels of 10.0/85 x 15,3h with 18 PR are fitted with scrapers and stone deflectors as part of the Kverneland Accord standard equipment. The **RKL has proven the importance of an even reconsolidation before seeding by a front packer. A mulch seeding combination without front packer on the wing sections was tested with the result of a reduced recompaction of the seed bed of up to 40%. Depending on the soil conditions this resulted in a considerable reduction (up to 60%) of tillering and corresponding reduced ear rate per sqm. (Source: **Rationalisierungs-Kuratorium für Landtechnik, special edition: Feb. 2007) Facts and advantages The combination of front and rear packer with a close axle distance allows the machine to perfectly follow the ground contours ensuring the precise depth control of the coulters when working on slopes. This is of major importance especially with the seeding of rape. A constant weight distribution over the total working width of the wheel packer (independent of the hopper level) optimizes not only the capillary action but provides the coulters with a perfectly leveled and reconsolidated seed bed. Disc harrow Coulter system The disc harrow of the MSC consists of especially strong discs arms which are mounted individually and are protected against overloading. The disc harrow can be equipped with discs of 460 and 510 mm. The serrated shape of the discs ensures soil penetration also under difficult conditions with best results. The aggressive cutting angle together with a large clearance allows excellent mixing and crumbling even with large quantities of plant residues. Due to the wide distance(1.1m)between gangs even large amounts of plant residues are incorporated without blokkages and carefully mixed with the soil. The disc harrow section can be adjusted hydraulically on the move from the tractor seat. In addition the working depth of the second row can be adjusted separately from the first row. The lateral forces of the individual rows are compensated and the machine follows exactly the tractor track. Apart from the disc bearings, all pivot points are absolutely maintenancefree. Good re-consolidation following the coulters is of special importance especially with shallow seeding as for example with rape and grass. Only in this way an even and high field emergence can be ensured. The patented CX-Mulch coulter provides all conditions for profitable seeding. In order to go at great speed the CX mulch coulter is pre-loaded by 160 kg. The resulting coulter pressure is unique amongst seeding combinations and ensures precise depth control of the seed placement. The depth control of the coulters is guided by the front wheel packer. Together with the coulter load of 160 kg, the sowing depth is always uniform regardless the driving speed and soil conditions. The wheel packer ensures reconsolidation in the field and safe road transport. The MSC is prepared for the fitting of pneumatic or hydraulic brakes as standard. The brackets which each support two wheels of 10.0/85 x 15,3h with 18-PR are fitted with scrapers and stone deflectors as part of the Kverneland Accord standard equipment. The CX coulter consists of the especially hardened 410mm notched steel disc and the 360mm convex plastic disc driving one another, due to the rotation a continuous selfcleaning effect is ensured. There is no need for independent scrapers which need to be adjusted and can act as a brake or might even cause blockages! In order to increase machine capacity maintenance free bearings are used. Press wheels Moisture too much as well as too little is always a critical topic. This asks for a flexible machine. Here the MSC shows its strengths, The reconsolidation by the 50mm wide press wheels which are in line with the seed coulters, allows a greater amount of rainwater to penetrate and seep away through the unconsolidated areas of the seedbed. The capillary moisture rise directly towards the seed and can be individually adjusted by the pressure adjustment. With very late seeding (e.g. after the beet harvest) the press wheels can also be fully lifted. Harrow Individual adjustment is also possible with the following harrow. In addition to an infinite pressure adjustment and the fully lifting of the harrow, three different angles with corresponding aggressive impact are possible. Moreover, depending on soil type and cultivation system there is the option of choosing an S-harrow (Ø 10mm) or finger harrow (Ø 14mm). MSC + - Soil cultivation, fertilizing and seeding Two hoppers for more versatility The design of the Kverneland Accord MSC+ is identical with the MSC 4000 to 6000, apart from the seed hopper. The Kverneland Accord MSC+ has a hopper divided in two parts with a total hopper volume of up to 4500 litres. Utilising two separate metering devices seed and fertilizer or two different types of seeds can be applied in exact quantities independent one from the other. The advantages are self evident. In just one pass fertilizer and seeds can be applied, exactly metered. Since the fertilizer is completely incorporated and covered, the plants can quickly and completely exploit the fertilizer deposited near the roots. Fertilizer placement by the disc harrow The fertilizer outlets in the disc harrow are allocated in such a way that the fertilizer line is applied exactly in between two sowing rows. All plants have exactly the same distance to the incorporated fertilizer depot. By adjusting the working depth of the disc harrow the depth of the fertilizer placement is controlled. Fertilizer application in the seeding row The fertilizer application in the seeding row is done by an extra fertilizer outlet. The fertilizer is placed in mixture with the seeds. This is especially suitable for phosphoric fertilizer in order to support the initial germination and development of the plants in the most efficient way. The special design of the coulter with two exits allows also the seeding of two different crops in just one working pass. The central depth adjustment can be done easily and safely by the two main cylinders with spacer discs. The large hopper opening is very user friendly and is opened and closed Easy filling due to low height and large hopper opening. by means of a one sided controlled rolling cover. The seed from the blocked valve is distributed to the adjacent rows. Kverneland Accord combi valves allow the seed from the closed track during tram- lining to be returned to the seed hopper, even when the hopper is full. It is possible to combine both types of valve to achieve an edge row effect and seed return when the width of the tramline is set to accommodate wide tyres.
