A: No, as a NCAT student, you may register via Aggie Access. Please make sure you meet with your academic advisor prior to registering for summer classes. Q: Is Summer School open to anyone? A: Yes, any high school graduate who is qualified to do competitive college work can apply as a visiting student. Rising high school junior and seniors can also apply. I have been admitted to the University for the fall as a freshman, can I attend summer? A. Yes, you can attend second session summer school. You will need to complete and return the Undergraduate Application Update Form to the Admission Office. You are required to attend New Student Orientation to meet with your academic advisor before you are allowed to register for summer courses. Q. I have been admitted to the University for the fall as a new transfer, can I attend summer school? A. Yes, you can attend summer session. You will need to complete and return the Undergraduate Application Update Form to the Admission Office. You are required to attend New Student Orientation to meet with your academic advisor before you are allowed to register for summer courses. Q: Do grades and credits count toward graduation? A: For NCAT students, credit hours and grades count the same as in fall or spring terms. For visiting students, transfer of grades or credit is determined by your home institution. Q: How do I transfer course credit to my home institution? A: If you wish to transfer NCAT academic credit, obtain written approval from the dean or adviser at your home institution prior to your summer registration at NCAT. Such approval is for your protection only; it is not required by Summer Session at NCAT, which cannot approve credits for transfer. You must request a transcript from the University Registrar to have grades sent to your home institution. Q: Is on-campus housing available during the summer? A: Aid may be available if you are a NCAT student and have a current FAFSA. Contact the Financial Aid Office, first floor, Dowdy for details. Financial aid is not available for visiting/non-degree seeking students. Q: How long is each session? A: Summer courses, including summer online courses, are compressed into 5 week sessions. There is a total of 5 sessions offered during the summer that start around the 3rd week of May and end the first week of August. The sessions are Pre-Session (2 weeks), Dual Session (10 weeks), 1st Session (5 weeks), Intersession (2 weeks) and 2nd Sessions (5 weeks). Classes meet Monday through Friday for 90 minute periods unless otherwise specified. Q: When do I register? A: Registration for Summer Session will begin in November. If you are a visiting/non-degree seeking student you must complete the Summer Session application and Course Request form which is found on our website and fax it back to us along with your $45 application fee. Once your application has been process, we will send you a confirmation letter within 36 hours along with a copy of your requested summer schedule. Q: How many hours may I take each session? A: The typical full course load is two courses, usually six credit hours. The registration maximum is seven credit hours to allow a four credit hour course or three credit hour course. However, you may only take a maximum number of 14 hours during the entire summer. Q: What if I decide to drop all my classes once I am enrolled for Summer Session? A: It is very important to officially “withdraw” from your summer classes. If dropping to reduce your course load to zero credit hours, you will need to withdraw. NCAT students may obtain a Withdrawal form from your department. Visiting students may obtain the Withdrawal Form from the Summer Office, 1020 E. Wendover Ave. Q: How much does it cost? A: The tuition and fees for North NCAT summer undergraduate resident is $116 per credit hour. Non-resident summer undergraduate is $522 per credit hour. Graduate students pay more per credit hour than undergraduates. For additional tuition rates, go to “Tuition & Fees.” Q. Where is the Office of Summer Sessions located and what are the office hours?
