Q: How do I know what classes to take at a CA Community College?
A: Use Assist.org to find UCSD course approximations.
• If the class you are interested in has a listed approximation:
• After you take the course, send a transcript to UCSD Admissions
• If the class is not listed on Assist.org, check with your CC to make
sure it is UC transferable, then submit a petition (see below).
Q: How do I get credit for Major and Muir GE requirements?
A: Petition all classes taken outside of UCSD before taking them. Be
sure to include the course description, preferably the course syllabus.
• Use the Undergrad Student Petition for petitioning major or minor
requirements and submit it to your major/minor department.
• Use the Muir GE Petition for petitioning GE courses.
Q: Can I receive Financial Aid if I enroll in Summer courses?
