What do you think would happen if volunteers no longer cared? Volunteers are the backbone in supporting strong, healthy communities! What do you think would happen if volunteers no longer cared? Who would read books to children? Who would visit lonely or isolated seniors? Who would teach English to new Canadian families? Who would plant trees and flowers in our local parks and community gardens? Who would offer assistance to families dealing with mental or physical challenges? Without volunteers...essential community services would cease to exist in Peel Region. Right here in our own community of Peel Region, Volunteer MBC helps to build the capacity of community service organizations by sourcing and matching qualified volunteers to deliver their much needed services. Since 2008, we have been serving the Cities of Mississauga and Brampton, and the Town of Caledon by connecting individuals of all ages to meaningful volunteer opportunities that: • • • • support people’s personal and professional growth; provide individuals and employee groups with opportunities to give back to the community; help youth fulfill their 40 hours of community service with volunteer experiences; build capacity for non-profit and community organizations to continue serving the public. Did you know that in 2014, Volunteer MBC referred over 30,000 volunteers to more than 185 community service organizations across Peel Region? The result: over 3.25 million volunteer hours of energy and expertise were channeled into serving people across our community. And when you translate these volunteer hours into dollars saved by community organizations, the impact our service has on supporting our community is immense! But as demand for our service has grown, sadly our resources have not. As a registered non-profit charity, we depend on funding from government, foundations and on generous donations from individuals like you. Please offer your support to help us continue our community work. Take a moment and just imagine what it would be like if we were not able to continue our work to support the community with volunteers. Regardless of your circumstances, we have all been touched by the caring hands of volunteers. Your contribution will make a direct impact on the lives of individuals who are looking to give back to society and to community service organizations who need volunteers to continue their great work. “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” (Aesop) This is YOUR community. Together, with your financial support, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those who need us. Show Us YOU Care.
