First Meeting of Steering Committee of ABIC 2004 was successful
Cologne, Germany will be the host of the ABIC 2004 with the
motto “AgBiotech goes Europe”. The conference will thus be
held the first time outside Canada. The Phytowelt GmbH has
been assigned with the organisation of the conference.
The ABIC (www.abic.net) is one of the most important conferences on agricultural biotechnology. Scientists, industrial
mangers, investors and policy makers will come together for
an intensive exchange of experience in order to give new
impulses to the further development of agricultural biotechnology. This unique forum has been created for the discussion of results from research and development in order to
enable cooperations between academic institutions and partners from the industry so that the transfer of labresults to industrial scale may be accelerated. Aside from that, the event
will serve as an informational forum for the public in respect to
the subject “biotechnology”.
During the first meeting of the conferences steering committee, which comprizes international representatives from science, economy and politics on the 31st of March in Cologne, decisions have been
made about the constitution of planning groups and the determination of the main topics of the 2004
conference.
