The practice observation usually takes place in the work environment of the trainer. The observed learning unit is part of a learning event in a group of at least three adults. Prior to the practice observation the following materials should be presented to the trainer of the module: § Description of the learning group § Explanation of how the learning unit to be observed fits into the wider context of the entire training offer § Commentary to the planning of the learning unit to be observed After the practice observation, a meeting and discussion with the trainer about the unit takes place. In addition, the candidate must write a reflection about the observed learning unit. Evaluation criteria The proof of competence is evaluated according to the following criteria: Planning ToT-FD-M5 § The requirements were observed. § The didactic planning is geared to the defined competencies and the resources to be developed. § The learning contents, the amount of subject matter and the progression are geared to the needs of the specific group of participants. § The methods, learning modalities and teaching aids are geared to the needs of adults and promote active and autonomous learning. § The transfer of learning is supported with adequate means and tools. 23.01.2013 / 3B – Engl 051013 3/5 Execution § The following abilities and attitudes were evident during the execution of the learning unit: o appreciative and respectful attitude towards all participants o confident shaping of roles in conducting and moderating the group o confidence in the methodological execution of the planning o interventions adequate to the situation in conducting the group of learners o ability to adapt the planning and one’s own role to the specific situation.
