Brown Rice Patty: Recipe 1
Ingredients:
1 c cooked brown rice, short grain
¼ c chopped onion
¼ c chopped carrots
½ c soy flour
1 Tbsp. potato starch
3 Tbsp - 1/2 c water
3 Tbsp corn flour
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp cumin powder
¼ tsp black pepper, ground
2-8 Tbsp vegetable oil
Procedure:
1. Gelatinize the potato starch and 3 Tbsp water (heat to about 90 C, until thick).
2. Add rice, vegetables, soy flour, spices, soy sauce, potato gel and enough water to
moisten ingredients to a food processor; puree until mixture is smooth.
3. Press ingredients together to form ¼ c patties.
4. Sprinkle each side of each patty with the corn flour.
5. Heat oil in a saucepan.
6. Lay each patty in the hot oil and gently fry for 5 minutes on each side or until golden
brown.
7. Drain and serve!
