What should be the minimum value of contracts specified in Item 14
in the Technical Bid (Annexure II)?
The contracts specified should be of similar value to the present tender.
What is the validity of performance security Deposit?
The performance security (10% of the annual contract amount) should be
furnished in the form of a demand draft of bank guarantee from any
Nationalized/Scheduled bank, in the name of the Registrar, Indian
Institute of Science, valid for a period of 3 years and 6 months.
Clarify on what are the other allowances (Column B in Commercial
Bid) that are mandatory?
Minimum wage (including VDA) [Column A], PF [Column C] and ESI
[Column D] are the only mandatory items, applicable to IISc. Hence other
allowances [Column B] is optional, and the bidder can include any
allowance in Column B that they would like to pay the contract labourers.
Hence the value indicated in Column B can (should) be greater than or
equal to zero.
Does IISc require police verification of the contract labourers
deployed? Who will bear the charge of police verification?
IISc requires verification of antecedents of persons deployed at IISc by
local police authority or private security agency. The cost of providing this
document will not be borne by IISc.
Can IISc provide the Excel Sheets for the commercial bids
(Annexure III)?
Yes. The commercial bids (Annexure III) for the tender is provided as
Annexure III_Mess.xlsx. IISc prefers the bidders to use the excel sheet as
it automatically calculates the total tender costs as required by IISc.
However, note that The excel sheets are provided only for the
convenience of the bidders and IISc does not take any responsibility for its
correctness. Therefore, the bidder is required to check the total value
computed manually, and discrepancy, if any, should be reported (duly
signed by the authorized representative) in the commercial bid
Can the deadline for submission of tender be extended by a week?
Agreed. The tender submission deadline has been extended to March 23,
2016, 3.00 p.m.
Query 7:
Does the list of consumables item specified Annexure III-C for all
messes? Should this include Cap and Gloves?
Response:
The items specified in the consumables is for all the messes (based on
the current requirement). However, the payment for consumables will be
made as per the actual quantity supplied. Cap (cloth) should be included
as a part of the uniform.
Query 8:
Will the contract labour working on national holidays be paid
additional wages?
Response:
Yes, contract labours working on national holidays will be compensated
as per the central government rules in force. However this need not be
indicated in the commercial bid.
