North Forsyth High School: 9th Grade 2016-17 Course Selection Sheet
WELCOME to RAIDER NATION! We are excited that you are beginning a
new chapter in your life as a North Forsyth High School student. We look
forward to partnering with you throughout your high school career. Your
middle school teachers have made the core academic course
recommendations. Along with these core recommendations, all 9th grade
students are required to take Personal Fitness/Health. You will be able
to review core course recommendations in the Infinite Campus Parent
Portal. Your responsibility is to select your elective classes and a
minimum of three alternate electives!
Core Academic Courses:
A description for all high school courses can be found in the 2016-2017
Forsyth County Course Digest. We strongly encourage you to utilize the
information provided to make an informed decision regarding your final
elective choices.

The Portal will OPEN on Wednesday February 17, 2016, and CLOSE on
Friday March 4, 2016, at 4:00 pm.
HELPFUL REMINDERS:
Students/Parents should select the number of elective courses to equal
seven (7) classes and three (3) alternate classes. In parent portal you will
see 70/70 if you have a complete schedule. If a course ends with a “y”,
this is a year-long course and counts as one class. If a course ends with a
“s”, this is a semester course, requiring you to select two courses to equal
the full credit. (e.g. 60325s Drivers Education & 40395s US Film). Your
schedule will be incomplete if you do not select two “s” classes.
If there is no course number but a teacher name, this course requires an
application. Information is noted as an (*). Please contact that teacher
directly and/or visit the NFHS website for the application.
Parents must complete an on-line course waiver form if they disagree and
wish to change a teacher’s core course recommendation. The waiver is
accessible via the NFHS website under the Registration Link. All waivers
must be submitted no later than Friday, April 1, 2016, at 4:00 pm.
