Paul Goering
Paul Goering, MD, vice president of Allina Mental
Health Clinical Service Lines, leads Allina’s mental
health work across the entire system.
A board-certified psychiatrist, Dr. Goering has been
seeing patients at United Hospital in St. Paul since
1993 and served as adjunct faculty at the George
Washington University Medical School for thirteen
years. Prior to his role leading mental health services
for Allina Hospitals & Clinics, Dr. Goering serviced as
medical director of United Hospital’s mental health
department and lead psychiatrist for Allina’s behavioral health services
outpatient clinic system.
His educational background includes an undergraduate degree with honors
from St. Cloud State University, a doctorate of medicine degree from the
University of Minnesota Medical School, and an internship and residency
training at the Naval Regional Medical Center in San Diego, California. Dr.
Goering also attended the Physician Leadership College at St. Thomas
University and the Advanced Training Program at Intermountain Healthcare
Institute.
