Starting a Conversation • Sometimes it can be hard to start a conversation or join a group. • There are some things that you can do to make it easier. • For example, you could have a set of words ready. I want to ask a question I saw that you.... Do you want to hear what I did on the weekend? • I like your shoes. • I have a DS too. • What is going wrong in the next picture? I want to join in! What could the boy do to start a conversation? Circle the RIGHT answer: A.Sit quietly. B.Get cross with the girls. C.The boy could ask the girls if he can join in. Activity • Everybody write something they would like to say on the piece of paper they have been given. • The first person to be asked by the teacher has to turn to the person next to them and tell them what they wrote. • The person then makes a circle. Now we will make a chain of words like a conversation.
