Redeemer's Worship Ministry exists to serve the body of Christ at Redeemer by helping them to lift their hearts and voices in the praise and worship of our God, and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through music. The Worship Director coordinates this ministry, through the recruitment, training, coordination, and development of a team of volunteers and staff. As the delivery of music in worship is enabled through amplified sound, and the lyrics are presented via video, the AV
(sound and video) team is supervised by the Worship Director.
 Experience in leading a team of musicians.
 Excellent instrumental and vocal capabilities.
 Familiarity with principles of and operation of sound system, projection, and lighting equipment.
 A love for our tradition and rich history with an eye on the present.
 A passion to continue bringing ancient hymns into the modern light.
 An understanding and ability to lead others in our philosophy of ministry and worship.
 Motivated by the worth and work of Jesus to love God and his people.

 Maintain a ministry plan, updated annually, that outlines the goals, programs and activities for the year in alignment with Redeemer’s mission and vision.
 Study scores to learn the music in detail, and to develop interpretations.
 Shape/arrange the music being played, communicating desired tempo, phrasing, tone, color, pitch, volume, and other performance aspects.
 Research new music, or reworked older hymns to teach the congregation.
 Attend weekly staff meetings.
 Recruit, recruit, and recruit: more musicians and singers that get the gospel and culture we’re trying to create.
 Transcribe or adjust musical compositions and melodic lines to adapt them to our particular group, or to create a particular musical style.
 Recruit and lead (or delegate out) musicians for special services such as
(Easter, Good Friday, and Christmas Services).
 Serve as a member of the Worship Team for an average of three Sundays per month, and ensure team leadership coverage on weeks when absent.
 Develop and enable the leader of the AV team to ensure that the AV team is properly staffed, trained, and supported.
 Ensure that slides/lyrics for songs are properly displayed for worship.
 Coordinate/ensure the scheduling of participants for all worship activities via
Planning Center.
 Meet with the Pastors to talk thru philosophy of worship, to review past services, and to plan out all worship services.
 Develop ways of creating community with the musicians whether formally in a community group or organically.
Position is part time (approximately 12 hours a week).
Reports to Session through: Teach Team Moderator (Senior Pastor)
Supervises: All Staff and volunteers in the Music and Audio Visual teams
