Service Available Description Adult Day Services Advocacy Services Full Description Programs that provide care for adults in a supervised, protective setting during some portion of a twenty-four hour day. Programs that seek to influence legislation in order to benefit specific interest groups or achieve specific social, political or environmental goals; or which intercede on behalf of individuals and/or groups to ensure that they receive the benefits and services to which they are entitled and that their rights guaranteed by law are protected and enforced. Assistive Technology & Equipment Programs that provide information about cognitive/learning aids, communication aides, hearing augmentation aids, mobility aids, and wheelchairs. Behavior Resources Programs that address behavior disorders. Behavior disorders are characterized by a repetitive and persistent pattern of conduct in which either the basic rights of others or major age-appropriate societal norms are violated. The behavior can be aggressive or non-aggressive. Includes programs that specialize in providing information about treatment options and/or provide behavioral intervention. Camps and/or Summer Programs- Residential or day camp facilities that are appropriately staffed and equipped to provide an opportunity for children who Child Care Programs have developmental disabilities, emotional disturbances or health impairments. Programs that provide opportunities for people of all ages to participate in the specific recreational activity, game or sport of their choice. Programs that provide substitute parental care for children during some portion of a 24-hour day. Child Support Assistance Programs that provide assistance for people who want to request child support, change the amount of a child support award, dispute a child support award or enforce payment of child support monies in cases where the supporting parent is delinquent in paying or refuses to pay all together. Dental Care Programs that specialize in the care of the teeth including the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the teeth and gums. Includes low-income clinics and dentists who have received formal certification from the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities (ADPD). Developmental and/or Programs that provide screening and diagnostic services for individuals which measure cognitive/intellectual functioning, Psychological Assessment developmental skills for the classroom, language and communication skills, independent living skills, social and emotional development and perceptual/motor functioning in order to identify people who show developmental delays, determine the nature and extent of the problem and recommend a course of treatment and care. Domestic Violence Prevention Programs that attempt to reduce the incidence of physical, emotional and sexual abuse of individuals through a variety of educational interventions which may focus on the likely victims of abuse, potential perpetrators, people who work with families and/or the community at large. Early Intervention Program for Programs that work with infants and children under 3 years of age who show evidence of developmental lags in Young Children physical, behavioral, social and/or academic functioning. Emergency Shelter Programs that provide a temporary place to stay for newcomers and/or people who are in crisis in the community. Employment Related Programs that provide employment opportunities for individuals searching for jobs; assist people by helping them prepare for, find, or secure employment; and/or assist with modification and/or support in the workplace. Expectant Parents and Infant’s Programs that provide educational and supportive services for new parents and programs that provide assistance for needs the needs of an infant. Financial Assistance Programs that provide monetary support to fund the short-term needs of an individual in emergency situations. Food Programs that seek to meet the basic nutritional needs of the community by providing improved access to free or lowcost food products. Health Care Services Programs that provide evaluation and treatment of people who have illnesses, injuries or disabilities. Programs that provide assistance in performing house-hold and personal care activities for individuals who are frail elderly and/or have a severe disability and are unable to accomplish these tasks independently. Programs that enable individuals who have visual or hearing impairments or who speak and /or read or write a language other than English to communicate their needs manually, verbally and/or in writing. Programs that are staffed by attorneys who offer advice and guidance regarding legal matters. Includes guardian/conservator programs. Programs that provide preventive, diagnostic, and treatment services in a variety of community and hospital - based settings to help people achieve, maintain and enhance a state of emotional well-being. Programs that provide classes, groups or other educational opportunities for parents or potential parents who want to acquire the knowledge and skills to be effective in their parenting role. Programs that serve individuals who are age sixty or older. Programs that provide educational services including special placement and individualized programming, instruction and support services for exceptional children, youth and/or adults. Agencies that offer information about specific disability conditions. Programs that provide preventive, diagnostic and inpatient, out-patient and residential treatment services as well as transitional support for people who have a physical and/or psychological dependency on one or a combination of addictive substances including tobacco, alcohol and/or other drugs; or whose use of these substances has impaired their physical or mental health or their personal, social or occupational functioning. Autonomous groups of individuals who share a common problem or concern who meet together on a voluntary basis for mutual support.
