First Grade News News Field Trip: Please have your child wear a rocket gear Tshirt, gray, or blue shirt to easily identify them as part of our group. If you are a chaperone, can you please do the same? Book Orders: Please use your AR reading levels (attached to book orders) to choose books for weekly reading. Reading books within their level will improve fluency and comprehension. Students can also take comprehension and vocabulary tests on these books. Book orders are usually labeled with AR levels. October 21 Doubles Party Friday, October 23 Harvest Festival 6pm-8pm Classroom Scarecrow needs to be displayed by 9am Friday, October 30 Super Minimum Day All students Dismissal 11:48 What we are working on: Math: I can represent and recognize numbers on a ten frame. Reading: I can confirm predictions about what will happen in a text. Social Studies: I can compare and contrast the past and the present. Science: I am learning the Engineering Design Process and I can explain how light and sound works. I will be creating a model to help a hiking group lost in the woods communicate for help. Writing: I can write a complete sentence using proper spacing, punctuation, and grammar. In my writing I am spelling learned sight words correctly. I can recall information from provided sources about the topic I am writing. Emails I have been emailing parents with classroom/school reminders.
