BALANCING SPREADSHEET ~ memo
Due to the recent changes in the SACS2013ALL software for the LCFF funding model, we do not have a
mechanism (TRC ) to check that the 2013-14 LCFF revenue sources tie between the LCFF Calculator,
Escape, and the MYP.
Attached is a simple Balancing Spreadsheet to assist you with this important check. It is vital that
balances are checked early on in case it is necessary to change the budget in Escape and re-upload.
Check 1: 2013-14 Column – Sections: “Escape” and “LCFF Calculator”
Once you have updated the financial system with the data as reflected in the LCFF Calculator and
uploaded into SACS, you should key the 2013-14 data into the “Escape” and “LCFF Calculator” sections
of the Balancing Spreadsheet. Then check that “total” line of both the “Escape” and “LCFF Calculator”
sections of the 2013-14 column agree.
Check 2: 2013-14 Column – Sections: “Escape”, “LCFF Calculator”, and “Multi-year Projection”
After keying in the 2013-14 MYP data into the Balancing Spreadsheet, check that the “Escape”, “LCFF
Calculator”, and Multi-year Projection” sections of the 2013-14 column are “Balanced.”
Check 3: 2014-15 & 2015-16 Columns - Sections: “LCFF Calculator” and “Multi-year Projection”
After keying in the 2014-15 and 2016-16 MYP data into the Balancing Spreadsheet, check that the LCFF
Calculator and MYP sections of the 2014-15 and 2015-16 columns are “Balanced.”
We ask that you submit the completed “Balancing Spreadsheet” to SCOE with your 1st Interim report.
