Homework Instructions 1. I do not accept late homework. (I will hand out solutions as I collect the homework.) If you are not in class, ask a classmate to bring your homework to me. 2. Clearly label each problem. Write the assignment (“Chapter 23: 1, 2, and 3”) on the top of the first page. 3. Write in dark pencil on lined paper. I prefer Staedtaer Engineer’s Computation pad. 4. Do not write on the back of the page. 5. Be neat. No more than two problems per page. 6. Box your final numerical answers 7. Show your steps and explain them in words. 8. Explain or comment on your final answer. 9. You may keep all the digits in your calculator for intermediate steps, but your final answer must have the right number of significant figures. 10. Don’t forget units. 11.You may use your calculator or computer to do algebra or calculus. 12.You should use a spreadsheet program such as Excel to create plots. Give an example of how points are calculated. 13.You may work together, but each individual must turn in his or her own work. We will start many problems in class as part of the discussion.
