When I came to LaGuardia community college I was not sure about my major. I took sciences, mathematics, economics and accounting courses in high school so I get some idea about my interest. Now I am taking Liberal Arts: Mathematics and Science major because I am interested in mathematics and sciences. Also, I want to do something in one of these subjects so I decided to study Pharmacy. Now, when I took the exam on focus career website it showed me that my strongest orientation is social. I don't agree with these results because they don't ask you enough question to find out about my interest. They ask me about forty questions and based on that they gave me the results. I don't agree with my result even though my second strongest orientation is Analytic/Research which I expect it to be my first choice. And because they only ask you forty question so it's not a wise decision to decide a career base on these results. In addition, there were some words in the questions that I didn't understand and I was unsure about. Also, it was hard for me to decide whether I like to help others in business matters when I never experienced it. Finally I strongly feel that it might not be a good idea to choose a major based on just forty questions. It might not be a good decision because how would I know if I like apple if I never had one. I believe with your career it is a same thing you can't decide without experiencing it. Once you experienced it, you will know if you really want to do that in rest of your life.
