What is SmartCheck?

It peeks underneath passenger’s clothing to search for guns, bombs or liquid explosives.

In this device special privacy software intentionally blurs the image.

It creates an outline of a body that is clear enough to see a collarbone, bellybutton, or weapon.

SmartCheck flattens details of revealing contours.

How does SmartCheck works?

Security officials are examining the head to toe images with a screener in a closed booth.

This machine generates about as much radiation as a passenger would get flying for about two minutes at about 30,000 feet.

Advantages

SmartCheck poses no health hazard.

It can detect liquid or plastic explosives.

The X-ray image would be destroyed immediately.

Disadvantages

It is not strong enough to penetrate much beyond the skin, so it can’t find weapons that may be hidden in body cavities.

Extra radiation is not good for our selves.

SmartCheck is a violation of peoples’ personal rights.

This X-ray scan is a “virtual strip- search”.


