Experience in a Computer Fair
Since I have missed the media conference day due to my class schedule conflict, I
have attended a Tri-State Computer Fair in Brooklyn Polytechnic University. It took over
an hour to reach there from where I live but it was worth it. It was a very exciting day for
Brooklyn Polytechnic students. The fair was held in the gymnasium of that University
where different companies were selling Softwares, DVDs, CDs, laptop and desktop
computers, digital cameras, I-Pods, and different parts of the computer. In some of the
stalls sales representatives were giving a brief presentation about some software which
they were selling. Many companies were represented such as, Dell Special, Flaming Sun
Inc, Atek Tel, H.F. Computing, Dynamic technology Group, Inc, Computer Media –
components and Accessories, Notebook Computer Wholesale, Laptop Parts and Repair,
Main St. Laptops, Spotswood, NJ.
I have bought Adobe “Dreamweaver CS3” and typing software “Typing Tutor
10” which I am very excited about. I have also bought some DVDs from there. I have
spent $189 for the Dreamweaver since it was 25% off. The reason I bought Dream
weaver is to create a professional looking website for my e-portfolio and also to become
an expert in creating web pages for business purposes. This could be a new horizon for

me where I could create and maintain professional websites for different companies as a
webmaster. I bought the typing software because I need to improve my typing speed.
After taking CIS100, my interest about computer has been increased. Now I want to learn
about some new software. To supplement my knowledge, I explored the topic further by
going into the website.
Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 is a web development tool. This sofwtware is available
for both the Mac and Windws platforms, but can also be run on Unix-like platforms
through the use of emulation software such as Wine.
Dreamweaver is an excellent software for quickly and easily design, develop, and
maintain websites and web applications from start to finish. Adobe® Dreamweaver®
CS3 offers the choice of working in an intuitive visual layout interface or a streamlined
coding environment. Intelligent integration with Adobe Photoshop® CS3, Adobe
Illustrator® CS3, Adobe Fireworks® CS3, Adobe Flash® CS3 Professional, and Adobe
Contribute® CS3 software ensures efficient workflow across our favorite tools.
Using Dreamweaver, a person can get pixel-perfect designs in Design view, can
write complex code in Code view, or do a little of each. It gives complete CSS support .
CSS, short for Cascading Style Sheets, is a new feature being added to HTML that gives
both Web site developers and users more control over how pages are displayed. With
CSS, designers and users can create style sheets that define how different elements, such
as headers and links, appear. These Style Sheets can then be applied to any Web page.
Advantage of dreamweaver is of visual CSS tools that make it easy to view, edit, and

move styles within and between files, as well as see how your changes will affect the
design.
Dreamweaver accelerate workflow with new CSS layouts, and test design with
the new Browser Compatibility Check (to see if browsers like internet explorer, Netscape
Navigator, Opera so on can load the web pages perfectly and accurately).
Integrated coding environment organize and accelerate coding with code collapse,
color coding, line numbering, and a coding toolbar with comment/uncomment and code
snippets. Apply code hints for HTML and server languages.
Another advantage of Dreamweaver is of support for leading web development
technologies, including HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, Ajax, PHP, Adobe
ColdFusion®, ASP, ASP.NET, and JSP.

After the research, I have found out that Dreamweaver is an outstanding tool
which is beautiful inside and out. Through it, we can unleash our creative ideas with
visual designs, specializes page layout, and formatting. Dreamweaver is one of the most
powerful applications for building and managing WebPages. With Dreamweaver we can

create tables, forms, CSS styles; we can create our own templates and use them to edit
hundreds of pages on our website with a single mouse click. Pages created with
Dreamweaver typically result in cleaner HTML code, and they look almost perfect in
Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Opera. Since I have missed our media conference day at
school, I am hoping for another event next year and I am sure by then I would know
about web designing.
